The Binh Thuan athletics team had a very successful start to the new year 2024, winning two gold medals and one bronze medal at the recently concluded 2024 National Cross-Country Mountain Climbing Championship to conquer Ba Ra Peak.
This is a long-standing and high-quality tournament within the national athletics competition system. The competition features 31 delegations with over 1,600 athletes from strong sports teams such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, the Army, Bac Giang, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Binh Dinh, Binh Phuoc, etc. Notably, this year's competition includes two delegations with 12 athletes from Champasak province (Laos) and Kratie province (Cambodia).
This season has attracted many high-achieving athletes from national and regional competitions such as: Do Quoc Luat (Army), Hoang Nguyen Thanh ( Binh Phuoc ), Nguyen Thi Oanh (Bac Giang), Pham Thi Hong Le (Binh Dinh), Hoang Thi Ngoc Hoa (Binh Phuoc)... The athletes will compete in the following distances: men's and women's individual national amateur 10 km; men's individual and team elite 7.7 km; men's individual and team junior 4.8 km; women's individual and team youth - women's junior - women's elite 5.4 km; women's individual and team junior 4 km.
The Binh Thuan team, with 6 athletes, participated in the 2024 National Cross-Country Mountain Climbing Championship to conquer Ba Ra Peak and excellently won 1 gold medal in the men's team event, 1 gold medal in the women's youth individual event won by athlete Nguyen Thi Thanh Tuyen , and a bronze medal in the men's individual event won by athlete Do Duy Thang .
