Bitcoin recovers

The cryptocurrency market saw a strong recovery on March 4th, shaking off the selling pressure previously triggered by escalating tensions in the Middle East and the weakening of other asset classes.

The world's largest cryptocurrency has experienced turbulent days since the conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran erupted on February 28th. At one point, Bitcoin dropped to a low of $63,038. However, investor sentiment has stabilized again, with data from Bloomberg showing that inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs in the US reached over $680 million in just two days, March 2nd and 3rd.

Experts at brokerage firm FxPro believe this development is a positive sign for cryptocurrencies, especially given the heavy selling pressure on other financial markets and gold during the March 3rd trading session. They suggest that some traders may be viewing cryptocurrencies as a safe haven.

In contrast to cryptocurrencies, Asia's benchmark stock indexes experienced their sharpest decline in nearly a year on March 4th, led by a record sell-off in South Korea. Futures contracts tracking US stock indices also fell across the board.

But despite the recovery, the market remains on high alert. Bitcoin is still about 40% below its October 2025 peak after the prolonged sell-off. Analysts warn that the situation is still too fragile to say the market has bottomed out. Bitcoin remains vulnerable to sharp fluctuations in stock market indices, a factor that is forcing institutional investors to reduce leverage in their portfolios.
