On January 12, at the Party Central Committee headquarters, General Secretary To Lam received a high-ranking delegation from the Lao Ministry of Public Security.

The Lao Ministry of Public Security delegation led by General Vilay Lakhamphong - Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Public Security of Laos - is on a working visit to Vietnam.

The General Secretary highly appreciated the close and effective cooperation between the two countries' Ministries of Public Security, which deserves to be one of the pillars in the relationship between the two countries, contributing to maintaining security, order and social safety in each country.

The General Secretary suggested that in the coming time, the Public Security Ministries of the two countries should continue to promote good traditions, increase mutual support and assistance, coordinate effectively in fighting against the sabotage activities of hostile forces; cooperate closely in preventing peaceful evolution, preventing and combating transnational crimes, especially drug crimes...; ensure security, order and build a peaceful, stable and developing border between the two countries; resolutely and persistently not let hostile forces take advantage of the territory of one country to sabotage the other.

General Vilay Lakhamphong affirmed that the Lao Ministry of Public Security will continue to promote its tradition and closely coordinate with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security in firmly protecting national security, maintaining social order and safety in all circumstances, contributing to consolidating and strengthening the special Laos-Vietnam relationship.

On the same day, in Hanoi, General Luong Tam Quang - Politburo member, Minister of Public Security - and General Vilay Lakhamphong co-chaired a conference to review the implementation of the 2024 cooperation plan between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Lao Ministry of Public Security.
