On January 12th, at the Party Central Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam received a high-level delegation from the Lao Ministry of Public Security .

A delegation from the Lao Ministry of Public Security, led by General Vilay Lakhamphong, Member of the Politburo , Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Public Security of Laos, is currently on a visit and working trip to Vietnam.

The General Secretary highly appreciated the close and effective cooperation between the Ministries of Public Security of the two countries, which deserves to be one of the pillars in the relationship between the two countries, contributing to maintaining security, order, and social safety in each country.

The General Secretary suggested that in the coming period, the Ministries of Public Security of the two countries should continue to uphold fine traditions, strengthen mutual support and assistance, coordinate effectively in combating subversive activities of hostile forces; cooperate closely in preventing and combating peaceful evolution, preventing and combating transnational crimes, especially drug crimes…; ensure security and order and build a peaceful, stable and developing border between the two countries; resolutely and persistently prevent hostile forces from using the territory of one country to undermine the other.

General Vilay Lakhamphong affirmed that the Lao Ministry of Public Security will continue to uphold its traditions and closely cooperate with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security in firmly protecting national security and maintaining social order and safety under all circumstances, contributing to consolidating and strengthening the special Laos-Vietnam relationship.

On the same day, in Hanoi, General Luong Tam Quang - Member of the Political Bureau, Minister of Public Security - and General Vilay Lakhamphong co-chaired a conference to summarize the implementation of the 2024 cooperation plan between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Public Security of Laos.
