Major General Hoang Van Sy, Commander of Corps 15 and Lieutenant Colonel Vu Ba Thiet, Head of Economic - Defense Group 710 talked and encouraged the family that received support from the unit to eliminate temporary houses in 2025.

Ms. Trieu Thi Tam, residing in Krong village, Ia Mor commune, is excited that this year, her family harvested more than 8.5 tons of rice. Together with the income from a 3-hectare cashew garden, 1.5 hectares of coffee and a herd of 35 cows, Ms. Tam's family has a fairly prosperous life.

According to Ms. Tam, the positive changes of her family are thanks to the great companionship and support of Economic - Defense Group 710. From a poor household with no land for production, no capital, and limited knowledge, she was accepted by Economic - Defense Group 710 to work as a worker, trained, coached in the profession, guided in planting and raising livestock; lent land for rubber replanting, supported with seeds and working days to grow rice. Just like that, her family gradually accumulated and bought a coffee garden, raised cows for breeding, bringing in hundreds of millions of dong in revenue each year.

The family of Mr. Ha Van An, residing in Krong village, Ia Mor commune, was also lent 3.5 hectares of land by Economic - Defense Group 710 to replant rubber trees and provided with technical support and working days to grow rice. In the 2025 crop, his family harvested 7.7 tons of rice, not only ensuring enough food for the family for the whole year but also being able to sell it for money to improve their lives.

Mr. An shared: “Thanks to the support and assistance of Economic - Defense Group 710, my family and many other families have escaped poverty sustainably and have an increasingly better life. We are very grateful to the unit. Whether performing defense, security or economic tasks, Uncle Ho's soldiers always put the interests and happiness of the people first.”

Building a solid "people's hearts" position

Through research, we learned that Economic - Defense Group 710, formerly Regiment 710, was established more than 22 years ago with the task of organizing and implementing the project to build the economic - defense zone of Nam Chu Prong (formerly Chu Prong district); at the same time, strengthening national defense and security associated with socio-economic development in the border belt area, together with local Party committees and authorities to develop residential - social clusters, helping people to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty. In just over the first 3 years of establishment, Economic - Defense Group 710 has supported the reclamation and improvement of 118 hectares of cultivated land for 180 poor households and supported 265 households to plow 478 hectares of land for planting trees; helped 218 households to plant 365 hectares of hybrid corn, high-yield cassava and develop herds of hundreds of livestock and poultry.

Lieutenant Colonel Vu Ba Thiet, Head of Economic - Defense Group 710, said that from 2023 to now, the unit has given nearly 50 breeding cows, worth nearly 1 billion VND to poor and near-poor households; lent people more than 142 hectares of land for replanting rubber trees to grow rice and crops, thereby helping hundreds of households have a stable food source and escape poverty sustainably.

Many households had a good rice harvest thanks to Economic - Defense Group 710 lending land for rubber replanting and providing technical support and labor days.

The unit has also mobilized many resources to help people build new rural areas such as building rural roads and canals within the fields; building and equipping facilities for two boarding schools worth 2.8 billion VND, ensuring the education and training of children of workers and people in the area; the "Sunshine of the Village" project with a length of 1.1 km, lighting up the Community Activity House and over 70 households in Krong village (Ia Mor commune); supporting people to eliminate 21 temporary houses with a sum of more than 3 billion VND in the movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025"...

“The work of the unit, together with the local Party Committee and government, has revived the land with a revolutionary tradition but was heavily devastated by war.
