VTV1 recently aired a report reflecting on the organization of extracurricular tutoring in violation of Circular 29/2024 in Hanoi . According to the report, the tutoring at a cultural center on Chua Lang Street (Dong Da District) is not well-organized. Despite cramped facilities, the center is still providing tutoring to nearly 500 students from a nearby junior high school, charging almost 2 million VND per month per student.
Regarding this matter, the Ministry of Education and Training has issued a document to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, requesting them to check and verify the information, strictly handle any violations (if any) according to regulations; and report the results of the handling to the Ministry of Education and Training in writing before April 30, 2025.
Previously, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training issued a document and established inspection teams to monitor the implementation of the aforementioned Circular, focusing on the District Departments of Education and Training, junior high schools, and high schools to ensure the serious implementation of Circular 29/2024.
It is estimated that, to date, Hanoi has approximately 15,000 centers and businesses related to tutoring and supplementary education established within the city.
