According to the Department of Broadcasting and Electronic Information, Ministry of Information and Communications (TT-TT), although popularly used by new users in the past 3 years, but Tiktok, a social network from China has brought Vietnam to the 6th position among the 10 countries with the largest number of TikTok users in the world.

Unlike Facebook, TikTok suggests content to viewers using its own algorithm developed by this unit. This also means that bad content, false information can also appear continuously in front of the viewer's eyes due to the suggestion of the algorithm.
Facing the above situation, the Ministry of Information and Communications will conduct a comprehensive inspection of the social networking platform TikTok. Inspections are expected to begin in May 5.
Mr. Le Quang Tu Do, Director of the Department of Broadcasting and Electronic Information, said that TikTok, Facebook, YouTube are all cross-border social networking platforms. They have globally applicable community standards.
“However, when entering Vietnam, these platforms must comply with Vietnamese law, including not only content management but also tax, payment, and advertising obligations…” – Mr. Le Quang Tu Do said.
According to DataReportal data, as of February, Vietnam currently has about 2 million people using TikTok social network. Along with Facebook, Zalo, YouTube, this is currently one of the most popular social networks in Vietnam.
