According to MEN , Fernandes did not outright reject Al-Hilal's offer. The midfielder allowed his agent, Miguel Pinho, to initiate discussions with Al-Hilal regarding the feasibility of the deal.
Al-Hilal is willing to pay Fernandes a salary of £700,000 per week, along with a £100 million transfer fee to Manchester United. The Saudi Arabian club is keen to finalize the deal before the FIFA Club World Cup takes place in the US next month.
The move to Saudi Arabia will not affect Fernandes' international career. Cristiano Ronaldo and Ruben Neves will still be called up to the Portuguese national team despite playing in this tournament.
Despite a disappointing season with Manchester United, Fernandes remains the team's top scorer with 19 goals. He recently received the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Season award for the second consecutive year. Currently, Fernandes is on tour in Hong Kong (China) and has entrusted his future to his agent.
Meanwhile, manager Ruben Amorim is still trying to keep Fernandes. He said: "He is very important to Manchester United and plays a crucial role in the plans I want to build. Fernandes has always been the one to shoulder responsibility in difficult times."
Manchester United are reportedly willing to sell any player, including Fernandes. Not competing in European competitions next season will significantly impact the club's revenue. The Red Devils must seriously consider Al-Hilal's offer, especially since Fernandes is already 30 years old.
