• Pressure to collect budget revenue amidst numerous changes.
  • Enhancing transparency and combating budget revenue losses.
  • Revenue collection is positive but not yet sustainable.

This result reflects the decisive leadership of the province and the tax sector, as well as the efforts of the business community and household businesses to restore production and business activities .

According to the Ca Mau Provincial Tax Department, the province's total state budget revenue for the first six months of the year is estimated at 6,956 billion VND, equivalent to 61% of the projected target, an increase of 14% compared to the same period last year. This result not only affirms the locality's ability to overcome difficulties and adapt in the first year after the merger but also creates room for the final push in 2026.

Multiple growth drivers

Commenting on the results achieved, Mr. Chau Vinh Thuan, Deputy Head of the Ca Mau Provincial Tax Department, said: “The highlight of budget revenue collection in the first six months of the year is the consistent growth in many key revenue sources. In particular, lottery activities continue to play a leading role with an increased issuance limit from April 1, 2026; leading seafood businesses such as Minh Phu Group and Ca Mau Seafood Joint Stock Company have recovered production and business, generating high profits; and wind power projects, after stable commercial operation, have also begun to contribute positively to the local budget.”

The seafood processing and export industry has recovered its production and business activities, making a positive contribution to the growth of the province's budget revenue.

According to representatives from Minh Phu Seafood Group Joint Stock Company, the company's production and business activities achieved positive results in the first six months of the year, with processing volume increasing by 23% and export turnover by 14% compared to the same period last year. Stable raw material supply, increasingly favorable export markets, and the commissioning of the processing plant in Khanh An have created further impetus for production expansion. The company expects continued growth in the second half of the year, the peak season for the seafood industry, contributing positively to the local budget.
