Powerful performance beyond its segment
BYD Seal Performance is equipped with two electric motors on both the front and rear axles, for a total capacity of 523 horsepower and 670 Nm of torque. Thanks to that, the car is capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, a parameter comparable to many sports cars using traditional internal combustion engines. The car weighs over 2 tons, but even in economy mode (Eco), the car still shows impressive acceleration, sensitive and decisive throttle response.
For those unfamiliar with electric vehicle performance, getting used to Seal Performance requires alertness and good control. Sport mode is clearly exciting, but at the same time, it can easily lead to drivers exceeding the speed limit if they are inexperienced or not paying attention to traffic conditions.
Suspension and ride
BYD Seal uses a mechanical suspension system, with a double-wishbone structure in the front and a multi-link structure in the rear. This system of the car is fine-tuned to be sturdy, sporty, and provides good body control at high speeds. Although when passing over large bridges, the car needs a few oscillations to stabilize, the overall feeling is still solid and safe.
The driver's seat is located near the middle of the wheelbase, limiting body vibration when cornering or changing lanes. This, combined with the variable power steering, helps the driver easily control the vehicle in many operating conditions. In Sport mode, the steering wheel provides clear feedback, not inferior to many German cars.
Soundproofing and chassis quality
BYD Seal Performance's soundproofing capabilities are highly rated in the segment. The vehicle is equipped with double-glazed glass, a sturdy chassis and an optimized aerodynamic design (drag coefficient 0.29 Cd), which significantly reduces wind noise when traveling at high speeds.
However, due to the use of 19-inch rims and wide 235/45 tires, the noise from under the chassis entering the cabin is quite loud when running at speeds of 90 km/h or more.
Sporty, modern and aerodynamically optimized exterior
The BYD Seal Performance features a sporty, smooth, and seamless fastback design. Details like hidden door handles, tinted glass, and a small rear spoiler contribute to the modern look.
The car is equipped with smart LED lights, 360-degree camera, parking assist sensor and electric opening/closing rear trunk. 19-inch multi-spoke sporty wheels, combined with 3D LED taillights.
Minimalist, spacious and tech-rich interior
With a wheelbase of more than 2.9 meters, the BYD Seal cabin space is spacious for both rows of seats. The cockpit is minimalist, focusing on a 15.6-inch central touch screen that can rotate vertically/horizontally. The car has a 10.25-inch digital screen behind the steering wheel and an additional HUD on the Performance version.
Finishing materials include premium leather and fabric, with blue embossed stitching. The 12-speaker DYNAUDIO sound system, dual-zone air conditioning, multi-color interior ambient lighting, two wireless charging trays, HUD screen, ... are the highlights of this version.
Genuine leather seats, 8-way electric adjustment, integrated heating, ventilation and position memory. The rear seats can be folded 60:40, integrated ISOFIX and center armrest. The rear luggage compartment capacity is 400 liters, the front trunk adds 50 liters.
Power and charging, powerful experience comes with infrastructure challenges
The battery with a capacity of more than 82 kWh accounts for about 1/3 of the vehicle's weight. In actual use, the power consumption for nearly 500 km of travel, when the battery goes from 90% to 30% is reasonable, but charging speed is still a point to consider.
The included 2.2 kW charger takes too long to charge, and to charge it requires a ground wire, which is quite inconvenient. Fast charging at private stations (like EV Charge) takes nearly 2 hours to charge from 30% to 100%, costing about 460,000 VND. Although it cannot compete with the free charging policy of some domestic manufacturers, the overall operating cost is still reasonable compared to gasoline cars in the same segment.
A big plus comes from BYD Vietnam's technical support, the company sent technicians to install a 7.7 kW charging station at home right after handing over the test vehicle.

BYD Seal Performance is an electric sedan that offers a powerful driving experience, modern design and impressive equipment in the price segment under 1.4 billion VND. However, to maximize the vehicle's performance, users need to consider the current charging infrastructure, especially when living in apartments or densely populated areas.
For those who are passionate about speed and looking for a pure performance electric car, BYD Seal Performance is a choice worth experiencing, although there are still some limitations that need to be improved in the infrastructure conditions in Vietnam.
