Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Bui Vien Street (the "Western Street"), and various cafes are some of the places where tourists can enjoy the Halloween atmosphere in Ho Chi Minh City.
Halloween, meaning "Night of the Spirits" or "Night of the Saints," is a traditional Western festival celebrated annually on October 31st with activities such as costume parties, "trick or treat" games, and pumpkin decorating. You can visit public entertainment venues, cafes, and shopping streets to enjoy the festive atmosphere in Ho Chi Minh City, according to suggestions from Hoang Long, a tourism communications professional.
Join the costume party on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street.
Nguyen Hue Walking Street (District 1) is over 670 meters long, starting from the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee headquarters to Bach Dang Park and crossing several streets such as Le Loi, Ton That Dam, Ngo Duc Ke, and Hai Trieu. In recent years, the street has become a popular destination for locals and tourists to participate in street costume activities. Here, you can admire elaborate and unique makeup displays. If you haven't prepared beforehand, you can experience the horror-style face painting service offered by street artists, with prices ranging from 50,000 VND per session.
In addition, along Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, tourists can enjoy delicious street food. However, this area also has many street vendors. Mr. Long advises tourists to ask for the price before buying to avoid being overcharged.

Shopping and taking photos on Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street.
Similar to other holidays like Lunar New Year, Mid-Autumn Festival, or Christmas, Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street (District 5) sells many characteristic decorations such as masks, witch hats and costumes, and pumpkin lanterns. This year, Mr. Long noted that the designs are more diverse, with prices ranging from 40,000 VND per item depending on size or style. Visitors can shop, sightsee, and take souvenir photos here. According to Mr. Long, the street is even more brightly lit and enchanting in the evening.
Enjoy the lively atmosphere of Bui Vien Street, the "Western Street".
Mr. Long said that Bui Vien Street (District 1) attracts many foreign tourists, so the atmosphere there is more lively. During Halloween, shops and restaurants there often change their decorations to be more spooky to attract visitors. Some places even organize themed activities. Similar to Nguyen Hue Walking Street, you can dress up and immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere on the evening of October 31st, the main night of the Halloween festival.
Check in at a cafe decorated for Halloween.
During special holidays throughout the year, many cafes in Ho Chi Minh City change their decorations to reflect the theme. Spooky photo spots, featuring iconic holiday symbols like pumpkins, spiderwebs, and skulls, become popular photo backdrops during this time. A representative from a cafe in Binh Thanh District said that the cafe started decorating for Halloween in early October, and the closer it gets to the holiday, the more customers come to take pictures, especially young people. In addition to the decorations, the cafe also serves some drinks and pastries specifically for the holiday.

Shopping malls
Most shopping malls in Ho Chi Minh City have seasonal decorations to attract visitors during this time. Some hang decorations like pumpkin lanterns and spiderwebs along the walkways, while others display scarecrows and large pumpkins to create a lively atmosphere. In addition, the shops in the malls also organize themed activities for shoppers during this period.
