1. Ingredients for making Yule Log Cake
4 eggs
Half teaspoon of tartar
50g sugar
5g unsalted butter
3 tablespoons cooking oil
40g unsweetened fresh milk
20g all purpose flour
20g cornstarch
Half teaspoon vanilla
200ml chocolate whipped cream
100ml fresh cream
Half teaspoon salt
2. How to make Yule Log Cake
Step 1: Make the cake base
Melt butter in microwave or double boiler, then add a little sugar, milk, cooking oil and stir until dissolved.
Next, separate the egg yolks and egg whites, add a little salt to the egg whites and beat for 10 seconds, then add the tartar powder and beat until the mixture is soft and fluffy.
Next, add the egg yolk and butter mixture to the egg white bowl and stir well. Slowly sift in the flour and stir around the sides of the bowl in one direction.
Step 2 : Bake the cake
Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes. Line the baking sheet with baking paper and pour the batter into the pan, then tap the sides of the pan to release air bubbles and allow the cake to rise evenly.
Bake for 20 minutes at 170 degrees Celsius.
Step 3 : Shape the cake
You can check if the cake is done by inserting a toothpick into the cake. If the toothpick comes out clean, it's done.
Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes, then roll it up to shape it. Once rolled, let it cool.
Step 4 : Decorate the cake
Once the cake has cooled, whip the chocolate cream and cover the cake. You can use a fork to draw lines on the cake to resemble a log and decorate as you like. Finally, roll it up to shape the cake.

You should preheat the oven 10 minutes before putting the cake in to ensure the best baking temperature.
