The handshake!

In love, perhaps the hand is the quickest and most genuine connection to the other person's heart. Holding hands, a seemingly simple act, is a voice of affection, a way of expressing love that is incredibly meaningful and brings immense happiness.

My husband and I have been together for almost ten years and have two children. I don't remember exactly when we started the habit of holding hands. Perhaps it was on that Christmas Eve, when he confessed his love to me. Amidst the chilly winter night, surrounded by twinkling lights and joyful bells, he suddenly took my hand and held it tightly.

From that day until now, no matter where we go or what we do, we always hold hands in every situation. It was the warm handshake as we walked down the aisle, vowing a lifetime together. It was the handshake of trust and encouragement during the sacred moment of welcoming our first child. Then, with the arrival of our second child, that handshake became a silent sharing as we stayed up all night caring for the baby; it was the handshake of comfort and solace as our loved ones passed away one by one.

In particular, on every company trip , my husband and I always bring our significant other along. Whether we're traveling with the group, at a restaurant, or strolling through the streets, we always hold hands – it's not just a habit, but a way to affirm that we belong to each other. Even during arguments, without saying a word to each other, if he gently reaches out his hand, I'll take his. That seemingly small handhold turns out to be an invisible thread, connecting our hearts closer together after each storm.

For my husband and me, holding hands is more than just physical contact. It's a non-verbal language, a message of "I'm here" whenever the other feels lost, a shared feeling of "Let's try together," and a thank you after a long, tiring day filled with the stresses of daily life. That handhold holds not only warmth, intimacy, and closeness, but also companionship. We hold hands and feel each other's presence in our lives.

After nearly a decade together, my husband's hands are now calloused from the burdens and worries of providing for our family. My hands are no longer as soft as they were in my youth, due to the nurturing and care of our home. But the warmth when our hands touch has never changed. That warmth is trust, protection, and a feeling of absolute security. Sometimes, in love, you don't need to show too much; just the sweetness, gentleness, and unwavering confidence from those peaceful handshakes are enough.

I've always thought that youthful love is vibrant and romantic, but love after youth is even more breathtakingly beautiful. People often say, "The price of a hand held in old age is the storms of youth." And it's so true! It's the hand held by people who have experienced countless ups and downs, countless hardships and pains in life, countless ups and downs and uncertainties in human relationships, yet remain deeply devoted and steadfastly loyal.

Love is like that; it's built from the simplest, most ordinary things, and doesn't necessarily need to be proven by grand gestures. Just holding the hand of the one you love, walking together to the end of the road, never letting go even through hardships – that's happiness enough, enough to feel loved and trusted. People always need to hold hands. When two hands are placed together, clasped tightly, we journey through love. So, if someone is holding your hand, hold on tight. Cherish that simple yet enduring happiness!
