According to AppleInsider , the iPhone 15 is the product line Apple is expected to launch at its event on September 12th. Among them, the most notable is the iPhone 15 Pro Max – a product rumored to feature a titanium frame, a USB-C Thunderbolt port, and a periscope camera.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max is the only iPhone 15 model equipped with a periscope camera.
In his report, Kuo stated that Apple's supply chain order growth for the iPhone 15 Pro Max will increase by 10% to 20%. Specifically, this high-end model could account for 35% to 40% of total iPhone 15 series orders during the initial launch.
Kuo added that periscope cameras will also boost iPhone 16 Pro sales next year, as both high-end models are expected to feature this capability. These factors combined represent a major victory for periscope lens supplier Largan – a company believed to be Apple's exclusive supplier of periscope lenses and also ships over 60% of Huawei's periscope lenses.
The report concludes that orders for periscope lenses will reach 15-20 million units in 2023, then increase to around 30 million units in 2024. Largan will benefit from smartphone manufacturers adopting this technology.
Finally, a recent rumor suggests Apple will delay the release of the iPhone 15 Pro Max until October due to supply shortages. This detail will most likely be confirmed by Apple.
