The legal representative of a business operating in the field of Tourism - Travel has sent evidence to accuse the inspector of the Department of Tourism of Kien Giang province of "extortion".
On the afternoon of November 8, speaking with Giao Thong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Bui Quoc Thai, Director of the Provincial Department of Tourism Kien Giang said that it had received a complaint from Mr. Ha Tuan Minh, legal representative of Vietnam Winner International Travel Company (Phu Quoc city).
“The viewpoint of the Board of Directors of Kien Giang Department of Tourism is to work fairly, objectively, and without cover-ups. If the incident happens as described in the complaint, we will take appropriate steps to handle it in accordance with the law,” Mr. Thai affirmed.

Accordingly, the Inspection Committee (IC) of Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee also announced the establishment of a verification team. The provincial Department of Tourism, under the direction of the IC, will work to verify and clarify the content of the petition in the coming days, and will have a conclusion in the near future.
In the report, Mr. Ha Tuan Minh stated: “On December 4, 12, Mr. Pham Xuan Nam, an inspector of Kien Giang Department of Tourism, called me to ask for financial support for Kien Giang Department of Tourism to organize some conference.
On December 12, 12, Mr. Nam called me via Zalo to continue talking about the support fund, then sent me the bank account number of a person named Nguyen Xuan Luy for me to transfer money.
On December 15, 12, after the phone call, I transferred to the account provided by Mr. Nam the amount: 2023 VND (five million VND even)...”.
According to the report, after the above transfer of 5 million VND, Mr. Nam called Mr. Minh many times to ask for "support", but was refused because the business was in difficulty.
Mr. Minh reported this case to the Phu Quoc City Police. Later, an inspector from the Kien Giang Department of Tourism called Mr. Minh to verify the incident, but everything fell silent.
“On May 14, 5, while I was on a business trip in Dongxing, China, Mr. Nam called me again and asked me to buy him a phone. Because my work schedule was very busy and I didn’t have much money, I refused. After that, Mr. Nam kept calling me on Zalo but I didn’t answer.
