The Ta Pua road needs to be upgraded soon.

The extended DT717 road, also known as the Ta Pua road, is a route connecting the area from National Highway 55 in Dong Kho commune through Nghi Duc commune, connecting with the DT766 route from Duc Linh and Nam Thanh communes to Da Huoai 3 commune (formerly Ba Gia commune) via National Highway 20 to the provincial administrative center.

The Ta Pua road has many sharp curves and is riddled with potholes.

The Ta Pua road is of great importance for inter-regional and inter-communal goods transportation. Especially since the province's merger, the road has become a vital artery as the travel needs of people and officials and employees in the area, from Tra Tan, Hoai Duc, Duc Linh, Nam Thanh, Dong Kho, and Nghi Duc communes to the provincial administrative center, have increased significantly.

However, the road is now severely degraded. Many sections are riddled with potholes, making it very difficult for passenger buses, trucks, and motorbikes to travel on it. On the Ba Sa pass, especially at the bends near the summit, numerous potholes have formed, making it very difficult for cars traveling in opposite directions to yield the right of way...

Mr. K' Son from the Ta Pua area said: "The poor road conditions cause many people to avoid collisions, leading to daily accidents. The road has many sharp curves, steep slopes, and mountain passes, making it already difficult to travel on. With the road in disrepair, the people are hoping the province will pay attention and invest in repairing and upgrading it to provide a more convenient route for them."

Recently, on the afternoon of August 5th, a landslide occurred on Ta Pua Pass at kilometer 24 of provincial road DT717, in Me Pu 7 hamlet, Nam Thanh commune. Authorities have cleared the area, but the risk of traffic accidents remains very high due to the poor road conditions.

The road surface is peeling off.

According to the Lam Dong Provincial Transport Project Management Board, the Ta Pua Road Upgrade and Repair Project was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 1278/QD-UBND dated June 26, 2025. The project includes a 9.5 km long road, a 9 m wide roadbed, an 8 m wide road surface, and 0.5 m wide shoulders on each side. The road surface will be asphalt concrete, the shoulders will be earthen embankments, and a new reinforced concrete bridge, drainage system, and traffic safety system will be constructed. The total investment is approximately 244 billion VND, funded by central government support and the provincial budget, with implementation scheduled until 2028.

Although the project has been approved, funding has not yet been allocated, so other procedural steps have not been implemented... The people earnestly hope that the Provincial People's Committee will pay attention and direct the allocation of funds soon so that the road can be upgraded as soon as possible...
