Beware of new malware attacking Android devices

Daam primarily spreads through Android APK files. The malware infects devices when downloaded from untrusted or unknown sources, often found on third-party websites or apps.

Daam communicates with various Android APK files to gain access to the phone. Once distributed through third-party websites, it encrypts files on the phone using the AES algorithm before deleting them from local storage, leaving only the encrypted files intact, with the extensions ".enc" and "readme_now.txt" and a ransom note attached. The malware is capable of hacking call logs and contacts, gaining access to the camera, modifying passwords, recording browsing history and bookmarks, terminating background processes, and accessing call logs.

In order to protect Android devices from Daam malware, users are advised to follow these instructions: do not download apps from untrusted or unknown sources; only install apps from Google Play Store or other trusted app stores; always update Android devices with the latest security patches; install a reputable antivirus app and keep it updated; always be cautious when clicking on links or downloading attachments from unknown sources; and finally, regularly back up your data to avoid data loss in case of malware attacks.
