Android devices continue to be a prime target for hackers to exploit.

In addition, malware can hack call logs, modify device passwords, and more. After attacking the device, hackers can even remotely control the phone.

Daam primarily spreads through Android APK files. This malware infects devices when downloaded from untrusted or unknown sources, often found on third-party websites or apps.

Daam communicates with various Android APK files to gain access to the phone. After being distributed through third-party websites, it encrypts files on the phone using the AES algorithm before deleting them from local storage, with only the encrypted files remaining, along with the ".enc" and "readme_now.txt" extensions and a ransom note. The malware is capable of hacking call logs and contacts, gaining access to the camera, modifying passwords, recording browsing history and bookmarks, terminating background processes, and accessing call logs.

To protect Android devices from the Daam malware, users are advised to follow these guidelines: do not download applications from unreliable or unknown sources; only install applications from the Google Play Store or other trusted app stores; always keep your Android device updated with the latest security patches; install and update a reputable antivirus application; always be cautious when clicking on links or downloading attachments from unknown sources; and finally, regularly back up your data to avoid data loss in case of a malware attack.
