Mr. TVT, 32 years old, residing in Luong Son ward ( Thai Nguyen province), was admitted to the hospital with a torn inner corner of the eye, a severed upper lacrimal duct, complex eyelid skin tears, and crushed eyelid tissue, including the tarsal plate.
This is a serious injury, posing a significant risk to visual function and the aesthetics of the eye area.
Immediately after admission, the doctors promptly performed lacrimal duct anastomosis surgery, restored the eye corner, and reconstructed the eyelid tissue. With meticulous attention to detail in each procedure and two days of post-operative care, the patient's vision, eyelid lifting function, and aesthetic appearance of the eye area were preserved.
Dr. Le Thi Yen, a Master's degree holder and physician who directly performed the surgery on the patient, stated: Eye injuries during work are very dangerous and can cause serious damage such as corneal abrasions, intraocular hemorrhage, retinal detachment, optic nerve damage, and even permanent vision loss or blindness.
Therefore, workers need to strictly adhere to safety procedures and use appropriate safety glasses to minimize the risk of accidents.
