Following the match against Newcastle, a poll conducted by United in Focus revealed that Manchester United supporters have differing opinions on Carrick's future at Old Trafford.

According to the survey results, only about 16% of fans believe Carrick is not capable enough to be Manchester United's long-term manager. Meanwhile, 37% of supporters believe the former Red Devils midfielder is doing well enough to be offered a permanent contract.

Notably, the majority of participants (47%) held a neutral stance and had not yet made a clear decision. Many in this group stated that just a few weeks ago they had almost complete confidence in Carrick, but recent signs of instability led them to want to wait longer before making a final assessment.

In the comments section, various opinions were also expressed. One fan argued that it was too early to draw conclusions about Carrick, but his post-match statements showed the personality and composure necessary for a great coach.
