Vicario has reached an agreement with Inter. |
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has reached a personal agreement to join Inter Milan in the summer 2026 transfer window. Notably, Vicario's decision to leave London is not dependent on whether Spurs remain in the Premier League or are relegated.
Despite securing their first win of 2026 against Wolves, Tottenham remain in the relegation zone, two points behind West Ham with four rounds remaining. The pressure is mounting, and Vicario's agreement to leave further complicates the team's future.
Joining Spurs from Empoli in 2023 for a fee of £17 million, Vicario quickly became the first-choice goalkeeper. He made 117 appearances and helped the club win the Europa League last season. However, Tottenham's management had already given the green light for this transfer months ago.
Currently, Vicario and Inter have agreed on personal terms, from contract duration to salary. The only remaining issue is the transfer fee. Meanwhile, veteran goalkeeper Yann Sommer is likely to leave Inter when his contract expires at the end of June.
From Tottenham's perspective, Vicario's transfer fee could drop significantly if the team is relegated for the first time in the Premier League era. Besides Vicario, Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, James Maddison, Rodrigo Bentancur, Richarlison, and Dominic Solanke are also potential departures from London.
