Celtic won the championship 4 rounds early

Celtic dominance continued in Scotland.

At Dundee United's Tannadice Stadium, in round 34 of the Scottish Premiership, Celtic quickly won the title with only 4 rounds left. Coach Brendan Rodgers' team dominated their opponents and easily scored 5 goals.

Although officially crowned champions, Celtic can only receive the championship trophy after the final home match against St Mirren on May 17. However, winning the championship four rounds early still makes Celtic fans happy.

Celtic equalled Rangers' record of 55 domestic titles. Rodgers' side are aiming for a sixth domestic treble in nine seasons, having won the League Cup last December.

Celtic will face Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final next month, with the chance to assert their dominance of Scottish football.

Under manager Brendan Rodgers, Celtic dominated the rest of Scottish football, winning 11 out of 12 domestic trophies.

Throughout Scottish football history, the title race between Celtic and Rangers has been a constant fixture. Since 1930, Rangers have often led the way in terms of domestic trophies, but in recent years that gap has narrowed considerably.

In 2000, Rangers had 49 league titles to Celtic's 36, but over the next 25 years, Celtic dominated with 19 league titles to Rangers' just six.

Celtic have also surpassed their arch-rivals in the overall trophy haul, with 120 titles to Rangers' 118. They are truly the current kings of Scottish football.
