Tim Cook is not enthusiastic about Intel's technology.

At the time, Apple was looking for a chip manufacturing partner for the iPhone and was considering Intel. However, after meeting with Mr. Chang and hearing his insights about TSMC, CEO Tim Cook changed his mind. Although he didn't disclose details, Mr. Chang said that Mr. Cook wasn't impressed with Intel's chip manufacturing capabilities at the time.

This event paved the way for a close partnership between Apple and TSMC, making TSMC the exclusive chip manufacturer for Apple devices, from iPhones and iPads to MacBooks.

Thanks to its partnership with TSMC, Apple can control chip design and access the most advanced manufacturing technology, thereby creating powerful, efficient, and distinctive processors.

The autobiography also reveals the crucial roles of Jeff Williams (Apple's COO) and Terry Gou (Foxconn's founder) in connecting CEO Tim Cook and Morris Chang.

The partnership between Apple and TSMC is a testament to CEO Tim Cook's strategic vision and business acumen. It has not only brought success to both companies but has also reshaped the global semiconductor industry.
