The lyrics are filled with human warmth.
When you say you love me, the garden is full of flowers and fruits / When I hold your hand, the gray clouds drift away, leaving only the faint moonlight / And when we love each other, no enemy can weaken our hearts… The lyrics of the song "Homeland of Love," sung by young singers Dong Trieu and Thien Phu at the Long Dat Center for the Rehabilitation of War Invalids and Meritorious People (Long Hai commune, Ho Chi Minh City) during the Lunar New Year, moved the veterans. Everyone enthusiastically sang along, smiles shining in their eyes.
The young artists of the Ho Chi Minh City Volunteer Artists Team continued with familiar songs such as "Light the Fire, My Dear," "Country of Love," "The Shadow of the Kơ-nia Tree," "March of Day and Night," etc. MC and singer Quỳnh Hoa, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural Center and team leader of the volunteer group, shared: "The tears of emotion on the faces of the veterans made the artists' voices choked with emotion and tears welling up..."
The trip also included a special activity: a "reunion meal," with the hope of bringing the warm atmosphere of a family Tet (Lunar New Year) to the elderly. "It was a very emotional trip. The stage was simple but warm, and the meal felt like a family dinner with a festive atmosphere. This Tet, we performed on many different stages, big and small, in the city. But singing for the elderly and our fellow villagers was the greatest happiness," said singer Truong Tran Anh Duy.
During the recent Lunar New Year, the artists visited and held cultural exchange events with 100 disabled workers from the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Disabled Youth and hundreds of underprivileged children in the "Warm Home for Spring - Tet Binh Ngo 2026" program. The atmosphere was lively and joyful, with exciting performances and wishes for a peaceful New Year, making the children very enthusiastic about participating in the performances with the artists.
Spreading the love of spring
During the Lunar New Year holiday, singer Thien Phu and several other artists rode their motorbikes around Phu Dinh, Chanh Hung, and Binh Dong wards, delivering gifts and lucky money envelopes to underprivileged people and street vendors who couldn't afford to return home for the holidays. She recounted: "We hoped to share some of the difficulties with the people by giving these gifts. Seeing their smiles, I don't know who was happier. Because at that moment, we ourselves were receiving a special joy."
MC and singer Quynh Hoa said that the series of activities to care for people with disabilities, child cancer patients, and disadvantaged children during Tet (Lunar New Year) included a series of free performances, thousands of gifts, and funds for purchasing teaching equipment, all contributed by many artists and philanthropists. Artists also organized live streaming events to sell clothes and charity fundraising concerts. And we cannot forget the journeys of bringing songs and music to people, officials, and soldiers in remote areas. Knowing that a ship was about to depart for Truong Sa (Spratly Islands), the artists prepared apricot blossoms, peach blossoms, and Tet decorations to send to the distant islands.
Aiming to create a relaxing space at social welfare centers, the Ho Chi Minh City Artist Volunteer Team implemented the "Sharing Sounds" project with many meaningful activities such as: organizing cultural performances, donating two community activity rooms and a psychological therapy room, and giving nearly 550 gifts to the elderly and people with disabilities.
