Parents love their children dearly and want to provide the best for them. However, they often want to choose a different major or school for their children, even if the children don't truly like or are passionate about it.
When choosing a career, success depends on passion. Those who lack interest will not succeed. Even if parents force them, they won't be able to pursue it.
We in admissions have witnessed many students entering university only to have to stop because it wasn't what they envisioned or what they were passionate about.
For Generation Z, if you don't like something, you can't do anything about it. If you don't like it, you'll quit, and by the time your parents find out, it's too late. Therefore, parents should sit down and listen to what their children are thinking.
Parents should share their thoughts with their children to find the best path for them to develop their full potential.
Parents shouldn't worry too much because when children excel, job opportunities will come. And when they are knowledgeable and skilled, they will have opportunities for career advancement and, consequently, higher income.
My only concern is when children lack direction for their future. But if they can determine their own future, parents should support and share their experiences to help them find the best possible future.
