Caring for women in border areas

Thoi Son Ward was established on the basis of merging 3 wards including: Thoi Son, Nhon Hung and Nha Bang, with a border with Cambodia, with a length of 5.5km. Based on the local reality, the Ward Women's Union has chosen a strategic and systematic direction to develop the emulation movement, attracting a large number of members and women to participate.

Chairwoman of the Ward Women's Union Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ha said that the emulation movement "Building Vietnamese women of the new era" associated with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style has created a strong influence, with 87 typical examples discovered and replicated. The campaign "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's" has also been widely deployed, helping over 1,500 households meet the criteria, contributing to building a civilized lifestyle.

During the past term, the Women's Union at all levels of the ward mobilized organizations and individuals with a total amount of over 1.4 billion VND to support the construction and repair of 13 charity houses, award scholarships to orphans and thousands of gifts to poor households. Up to now, Thoi Son ward has achieved a rate of 100% of agencies and units under the ward having female leaders. The Union also helped 316 families with women escape poverty and near-poverty, exceeding the set target. The trust activities with the Social Policy Bank were effectively managed, with a total outstanding loan of 32.5 billion VND, helping hundreds of women have capital to develop their family economy .

Ms. Neang Ca Kim, resident of Hoa Hung hamlet, shared: “Thanks to the support and help of the local government and the Women's Union of the ward, I have capital to do business, buy and sell, and expand my stall. I also participated in communication classes and learned how to sell online. Now, my income is more stable, I can raise my children to study properly, and I am more and more confident.”

The work of the association and the women's movement has received close attention from the Party Committee, the government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the ward; close and effective coordination from departments, branches and organizations. The Executive Committee of the Women's Union constantly innovates the content and methods of operation; closely follows the orientation of the Party Committee, the political tasks of the locality, the resolutions of the women's congresses at all levels, thereby concretizing them into targets, key tasks. At the same time, the association proactively coordinates with the industry and locality, taking advantage of resources to support the activities of the Association and the women's movement, gradually affirming its role of representing, caring for and protecting the legitimate rights of women and children...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ha said that in the 2025 - 2030 term, the Ward Women's Union strives to achieve the following goals: Supporting women in economic development, building safe families for women and children, participating in Party building, government building, supporting women in digital transformation, foreign affairs, international cooperation...

The Ward Women's Union will continue to widely and effectively deploy the emulation movement "Building Vietnamese women of the new era", associated with two major campaigns: "Training the qualities of confidence, self-respect, loyalty, and responsibility" and "Building a family of 5 no's and 3 clean's".
