COMPETE TO FOLLOW THE FIVE TEACHINGS OF PRESIDENT HO CHI MINH

The Lam Dong Provincial Youth Union Council currently has 10 district-level Youth Union Councils, 137 commune-level Youth Union Councils, and 378 Youth Union branches, with 154,791 members and 244,317 children. In recent times, creating an environment for children to effectively implement the "Lam Dong Children Competing to Follow the Five Teachings of Uncle Ho" movement has been a focus of Youth Union organizations at all levels in the province.

Specifically, during the period 2019-2025, the entire province organized more than 2,500 activities to express gratitude and remembrance, such as visiting Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, wounded soldiers, families of martyrs, families of policy beneficiaries, those who contributed to the revolution, and visiting martyrs' cemeteries... with more than 835,200 young Pioneers and children participating. More than 2,000 journeys to "historical sites" were organized in person and online, attracting more than 1.5 million young Pioneers and children.

The Youth Union Councils of districts and cities have effectively organized movements and activities to encourage academic excellence; guided members and children to develop their creativity and proactively acquire knowledge in foreign languages and information technology. They have also guided children in using and exploiting the internet for healthy learning and entertainment. Throughout the province, 226 interest-based clubs, 243 Children's Rights clubs, and 193 learning clubs have been maintained and effectively promoted. Through these, a healthy and safe environment has been created for children to participate in activities, improve their health, and develop their talents.

In addition, the Provincial Youth Union Council also directed local units to focus on educating members and children about the importance of saving, loving labor, and protecting the environment through the "Small Plan" movement. Through this, the money accumulated by the members and children was used to award scholarships and meaningful gifts to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who excelled in their studies. The Youth Unions also effectively organized the "Social Skills Education" and "Creative Experience Recess" models, integrating them with sessions on life skills and social skills education; disseminating and educating on the law; and providing free swimming lessons for students in schools...

On the occasion of the 13th Lam Dong Provincial Congress of Exemplary Children of Uncle Ho - 2025, the Lam Dong Provincial Youth Union Council launched the movement "Lam Dong Children are Happy, Healthy, Diligent in Studying, and Nurturing Green Seeds for the Nation," for the period 2025-2030. According to Ms. Tran Diep My Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union and President of the Provincial Youth Union Council, this is a new movement aimed at building a generation of active and well-rounded young members and children who are well-rounded in their studies, training, and overall development in "Morality - Intellect - Physicality - Aesthetics." The movement was launched simultaneously throughout the province on March 24th and has spread to 100% of young members and children through lively, creative, and enthusiastic activities with profound educational significance.

EVERY CHILD IS A FRAGRANT FLOWER

Given that the province has nearly 26% ethnic minority population and many remote and disadvantaged areas, the comprehensive development of children is a priority for all levels of the Youth Union in the province. During the period 2019-2025, the Lam Dong Provincial Youth Union and Children's Council coordinated the awarding of over 1,150 scholarships to disadvantaged students with a total value of over 10.2 billion VND; donated 5 Children's Library Models worth over 110 million VND; and provided nearly 120 million VND in funding for the repair of the Red Scarf House. They also donated 5 projects for the benefit of our beloved children with a budget of over 280 million VND. Furthermore, they actively mobilized social resources to build 8 toilets for children with a total cost of over 2.8 billion VND in disadvantaged areas throughout the province.

The "Lighting Up Children's Dreams in Lam Dong" program has been implemented synchronously throughout the province with over 2,560 activities organized. Since 2024, the Provincial Youth Council, in coordination with the magazine "Light and Life," has organized the "Sunny Flowers" program with many meaningful and practical activities; awarding numerous scholarships to students who overcome difficulties and excel in their studies. In addition, the Lam Dong Provincial Children's Council was established in 2022 with 26 members and has held four meetings to date, addressing pressing issues of concern to children. Through these meetings, proposals and recommendations from the Children's Council members have been submitted to relevant departments, agencies, and organizations for resolution.

Especially during these April days, the grounds of Bao Dai III Palace in Da Lat City have become a popular tourist attraction for many children and youth group members, as the "50 Years of Da Lat - Lam Dong Striving for Development" project is taking place there. The project, implemented jointly by the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Children's Council, features a variety of rich content such as: a book space, a digital space, a music space, an art path, and a space for experiencing local products, etc. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union and President of the Provincial Children's Council, Tran Diep My Dung, stated: “The project is being implemented to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Da Lat City as well as the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, as a way for the youth of Lam Dong to express their gratitude to their ancestors and their aspirations for advancement. The project also conveys educational messages about revolutionary ideals and traditions to the young members of the Children's Council, encouraging them to continue striving for excellence in their studies and training; continuing the proud achievements of previous generations; and nurturing and building upon these values in the years to come.”
