- With the motto of putting members at the center, the Farmers' Association of Dong Kinh ward has implemented many practical activities to care for the material and spiritual lives of its members.

Mr. Dao Xuan Thuy, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Kinh Ward and Chairman of the Ward Farmers' Association, said: The ward currently has over 1,920 farmer association members operating in 40 branches. Identifying the care and protection of the legitimate rights and interests of its members as a key task, the Ward Farmers' Association has continuously innovated its content and methods of operation. At the same time, it has promoted activities to support economic development and improve the material and spiritual lives of farmers. Through this, it has contributed to building a strong association, creating trust and attachment among its members.

Accordingly, to support its members in economic development, the association has intensified its efforts to promote and encourage farmers to participate in the "Farmers Competing in Excellent Production and Business, Uniting to Help Each Other Get Rich and Achieve Sustainable Poverty Reduction" movement. Over the past three years, in addition to coordinating nearly 100 training courses on transferring scientific and technical knowledge in crop cultivation and livestock farming for over 3,400 members, the association has also coordinated 13 study tours to learn from effective production and business models. Furthermore, the association has supported members in accessing preferential loans and is a unit with a large total outstanding loan balance, highly appreciated by the Provincial Farmers' Association for its implementation of capital support for members' economic development. Currently, the association has coordinated and received entrusted loans totaling over 65 billion VND for 610 households from the Provincial Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) and over 1 billion VND for 16 households from the farmers' support fund. Thanks to this, many economic models in the ward have been maintained and developed effectively, such as: planting cashew trees on over 129 hectares; planting macadamia trees on over 10 hectares; growing safe vegetables on over 5 hectares; and growing grapes on nearly 2 hectares… The effectiveness of these support activities is clearly demonstrated by the increasing number of members achieving the title of Excellent Production and Business Household. In the past three years, the entire ward has had 321 households of the People's Council achieving the title of Excellent Production and Business Household at various levels.

Ms. Do Hong Tien, Head of the Khon Khuyen Branch of the Farmers' Association in Dong Kinh Ward, said: "The branch currently manages one savings and loan group with outstanding loans of over 5.2 billion VND for 49 members, borrowed from the provincial branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies. In addition, we regularly support members in accessing scientific and technical knowledge, introducing new crop varieties, and connecting them with agricultural product markets. Thanks to this, many members have effectively developed production models, increased their income, and achieved legitimate wealth. Currently, the branch has 38 members, 11 of whom have received the title of Excellent Production and Business at various levels."

Along with supporting economic development, the Ward Farmers' Association pays special attention to caring for the spiritual life of its members. Every year, the association effectively maintains arts and sports clubs; regularly organizes exchanges and competitions, creating a healthy playground for members to meet and exchange experiences. Currently, the ward has over 20 arts and sports clubs with more than 50% of members being Farmers' Association members; the percentage of member families achieving the title of "Cultural Family" annually is over 95%. Since 2025, the association has organized four arts and sports competitions, attracting a large number of members. This is also one of the effective solutions that helps the Ward Farmers' Association gather and attract members, contributing to preserving local cultural identity and building a cultural life in residential areas.

Ms. To Thi Son, a member of the HND branch in Block 19 and a member of the Then Singing and Dan Tinh Playing Club in Dong Kinh Ward, shared: "I joined the club in 2018. Through the activities, practice sessions, and cultural exchanges, I not only satisfy my passion but also have the opportunity to meet and connect with many members from other branches. These activities help us become more close-knit, joyful, and contribute to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values ​​of our nation."

In addition, the Ward's Farmers' Association has effectively carried out many other tasks such as: from 2023 to the present, the association has mobilized 1,680 members to participate in environmental sanitation; annually, it coordinates visits and gifts worth tens of millions of VND to members in difficult circumstances; and mobilizes 100% of members to contribute to social welfare funds…

It is evident that, through concrete and practical actions, the Ward Farmers' Association has effectively played its role as a bridge between the association and its members, creating motivation for members to develop their economy, improve their living standards, and actively participate in local emulation movements. Recognizing these achievements, in January 2026, the Ward Farmers' Association was honored to receive a commendation from the Provincial Farmers' Association for its outstanding performance in association work and farmers' movements in 2025.
