Mr. Tran Van Duc shared: “My house was in very poor condition. On rainy days, I had to use various objects to cover and catch the leaking water. Thanks to the government's attention and support in providing us with a sturdy house to protect us from the sun and rain, it not only relieved our worries about housing but also gave us great motivation to work, produce, and develop the economy with peace of mind.”

With no land for farming and two children to support through school, the burden of life weighed heavily on the shoulders of Mrs. Tran Mong Linh and her husband (Tan Hong hamlet). They toiled tirelessly, buying crabs in the morning and tying them up for hire in the afternoon. Life became even more difficult when their two children entered university. The joy of this poor couple was overwhelming when local officials guided them in obtaining loans from the Social Policy Bank's student loan program, and also provided them with preferential loans to raise ducks and invest in a crab farming model. This generous capital brought them a steady income, enabling them to provide for their two children's education.
To date, the eldest child has graduated and has a stable job, and the youngest daughter is also in her third year of studying Business Administration at Bac Lieu University .
Mrs. Tran Mong Linh and her husband (seated on the right) proudly shared with local authorities about their two children's academic achievements.
All their earnings went towards their children's education, so their house, made of local wood and leaves, had become dilapidated, but the couple never dared to think about rebuilding it. In March 2025, the local authorities announced that the family would receive a "Great Solidarity" house worth 60 million VND from the Soc Trang Lottery Company. The couple couldn't hold back their tears of joy. The house was not only a long-held dream but also a source of emotional support, helping the family stabilize their lives.
Playing a pivotal role in implementing the "For the Poor - Leaving No One Behind" emulation movement, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ta An Khuong Commune closely coordinated with the government and member organizations to mobilize people and businesses in the area to contribute to the "For the Poor" fund. With 1.8 billion VND mobilized from the beginning of the year to date, the commune's "For the Poor" fund has been used to support the repair and construction of 9 solidarity houses; 5 rural traffic bridges; 1,800 gifts, 30 bicycles, and medical examinations and treatment for 800 people...
“In order to better care for the poor, in the coming time, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ta An Khuong Commune will coordinate with the government to review the list of poor households to plan specific support for each individual, with a focus on housing and livelihood support. We also regularly inspect the management, mobilization, and use of the 'For the Poor' fund, ensuring that support for the poor is transparent, purposeful, and reaches the right beneficiaries,” shared Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ta An Khuong Commune.
The social welfare programs for poor and disadvantaged households implemented by the Fatherland Front of Ta An Khuong Commune have brought about sustainable and fundamental changes in each family, contributing to significant changes in the community. The effectiveness of helping and sharing is not only measured in terms of material value, but also in stories of trust and connection, so that each citizen, especially the poor, feels that they are not left behind, contributing to the province's effective implementation of poverty reduction goals in the coming period.
