Taking care of workers during Tet (Lunar New Year).

In 2024, under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and the management of the Provincial People's Committee, the province's economy continued to develop comprehensively. All 17 key socio-economic indicators were achieved and exceeded the set targets; the economic growth rate reached 9.53%, the highest in the past 15 years, placing the province among the top 10 out of 63 localities with high growth rates nationwide. Many businesses in the province have made significant progress, and employment for workers and employees is basically guaranteed, with no prolonged unemployment or job losses. The average income of workers and employees in 2024 reached over 7.6 million VND/person/month.

Currently, there are 3,822 businesses in the province that have reported on salaries, employing over 192,000 workers. Many businesses have announced their projected salaries and Tet bonuses for employees, such as Tasa Ceramic Tile Joint Stock Company (Thuy Van Industrial Park, Viet Tri City) with the highest salary at 153.8 million VND and the highest projected Tet bonus at 159 million VND; FDI enterprises such as Yida Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Cam Khe town, Cam Khe district) with the highest salary at 98 million VND and the highest Tet bonus at 98 million VND. Some businesses, due to reduced or no orders, are paying salaries at the regional minimum wage and are projecting a minimum bonus of 300,000 VND for newly recruited workers. In addition, workers who work during Tet will be considered to have worked overtime and will receive overtime pay according to the regulations of the 2019 Labor Code...

Along with salary and Tet bonuses, many activities to care for workers during Tet have been organized by various levels, sectors, and organizations. The Provincial Labor Union has spent over 2.2 billion VND to support union members and workers in difficult and especially difficult circumstances during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025; and awarded 50 Tet gifts, each worth 1.3 million VND, to workers in difficult circumstances. In addition, the Provincial Labor Union also organized the "Trade Union Tet Market 2025" with the participation of 31 units and businesses offering nearly 200 essential goods, OCOP products, agricultural products, and local specialties... to serve union members and workers during Tet.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong from Hung Lo commune, Viet Tri city - a worker at Seshin Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Thuy Van Industrial Park) shared: "The trade unions at all levels have organized programs for us workers that are truly meaningful in the period before Tet. We benefited greatly from essential goods and services at preferential prices; we participated in cultural, artistic, and sports activities, received gifts, and had lucky draws, which was very exciting."

Yakjin Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Thuy Van Industrial Park, Viet Tri City) employs over 3,500 workers, with over 99% being female, specializing in the production and export of garments. Despite facing numerous challenges, the company strives to maintain production, provide employment, stabilize income for its workers, and ensure full benefits and policies related to labor rights, while also providing thoughtful and complete support for its employees during the Lunar New Year. The company recently organized the "Tet Reunion - Spring Sharing" program for its union members and workers in 2024. During the program, the company organized various activities to celebrate the Lunar New Year, such as making banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes), arranging fruit platters, a donut eating contest, and a raffle, and donated 140 gift packages worth over 130 million VND to workers in difficult circumstances.

Many businesses proactively implemented Tet holiday preparations early, such as Pangrim Neotex Co., Ltd.; Seshin Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Yakjin Co., Ltd.; Opus One Co.; Shinhwa Thien Xuan Trading Co., Ltd., etc. These businesses proactively prepared logistics to support employees working during Tet; organized Tet gift-giving for staff and workers; provided subsidies to workers' families in difficult circumstances; and supported bus tickets for workers living far away to return home for Tet.

The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Provincial Labor Union have also strengthened the socialization of resources to support disadvantaged union members and workers, helping them stay with businesses to celebrate Tet; regularly inspect and monitor the implementation of regulations and policies on Tet bonuses for workers; promptly understand their thoughts and aspirations; and propagate and encourage union members and workers to celebrate Tet and Spring in a thrifty and safe manner, comply with the law, and return to work on time.
