Officers and soldiers of the Provincial Border Guard visited, provided health check-ups, and distributed free medicine to people in border areas.

The Thanh Hoa Border Guard Force has mobilized all resources to take care of the Tet holiday for the people in border areas, starting with a series of activities in the "Border Guard Spring - Warming the Hearts of the People" program, which took place at all border guard posts in the days leading up to Tet, attracting the participation of provincial departments, organizations, businesses, entrepreneurs and philanthropists towards the border.

At Quang Chieu Border Guard Station, the Border Guard Command and the Provincial Women's Union, in coordination with Quang Chieu and Muong Chanh communes, successfully organized the "Border Guard Spring - Warming the Hearts of the People" program for the Spring of the Year of the Horse 2026, with a budget of nearly 1 billion VND. The program included cultural and artistic exchanges; visits, New Year greetings, and gift-giving to local Party committees, authorities, village elders, community leaders, influential figures, those involved in protecting border markers and lines, policy beneficiary families, meritorious individuals, and women's union members in particularly difficult circumstances; medical examinations and treatment for ethnic minority people; awarding scholarships to students; and organizing "zero-cost" stalls providing clothing and essential goods to needy households.

In Tam Chung commune, the program allocated 38 special support grants for children participating in the "Helping Children Go to School - Children Adopted by Border Guard Posts" program, totaling 180 million VND. For the border commune of Yen Khuong, the Yen Khuong Border Guard Post, in coordination with Lam Son Sugar Company, the Sen Vang Charity Group, and the Red Cross Society of the commune, organized activities such as making banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes), cultural exchanges, and donating 200 gift packages worth 100 million VND to war invalids, sick soldiers, families of policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious service to the revolution, poor households, those participating in border protection, and supporting students with difficult circumstances and disabilities to pursue their studies.

In addition to providing material support, the Border Guard Force also focuses on propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage the people to comply with the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws, raising awareness of protecting the border and boundary markers, and maintaining security and order in border areas. This contributes to strengthening the people's trust in the Party, the State, and the border guard force, building a solid all-people border defense posture.

For students in mountainous areas, the Lunar New Year is also a time when many are at risk of dropping out of school due to difficult circumstances. In response to this reality, border guard posts have effectively maintained educational support models, awarding scholarships, donating books, clothes, and visiting and encouraging students and their families to ensure their children return to school after the holiday. Currently, the Thanh Hoa Border Guard is directly assisting 327 students, providing 500,000 VND per child per month, including 11 students from villages bordering Laos and 12 children adopted by border guard posts. Specifically for the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025, implementing the plan to organize the program "Border Guard Spring - Warming the Hearts of the Villagers," the provincial Border Guard coordinated with local Party committees and authorities; Departments, agencies, mass organizations, and individuals inside and outside the province visited and presented gifts to the people and policy beneficiaries in the border area, with a total value of over 6 billion VND.

Residents of Quang Chieu commune received gifts from the "Zero-Cost Booth" during the "Spring Border Guard - Warming the Hearts of the Villagers" program.

Over 4,000 gifts worth more than 3 billion VND have been mobilized to date, demonstrating the spirit of "the whole country for the border," imbued with the deep affection between the military and the people, clearly showcasing the role, responsibility, and beautiful image of the border guards on the front lines of the Fatherland. For the people in the border region of Thanh Hoa, the presence of the Border Guard is not only a solid support in protecting sovereignty and border security, but also a source of spiritual support, bringing the warmth of spring to every remote village. In the spring colors spreading across the border mountains and forests, the close bond between the military and the people is the solid foundation for the border region to become increasingly stable, developed, and peaceful.

Colonel Nguyen Van Dong, Deputy Political Commissar of the Thanh Hoa Border Guard Command, said: "Each gift sent to the people, although not of great material value, contains the warmest and most affectionate feelings of the leaders of provincial departments and agencies, of the officers and soldiers of the provincial Border Guard, as well as agencies, units, businesses, and philanthropists inside and outside the province, sent to the people in border areas on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026. With the wish that the people will have a complete, fulfilling, warm and joyful Tet holiday in the new year 2026."
