Currently, Ca Mau province has over 20,000 members of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin , of which 6,763 victims are receiving preferential policies from the State. The majority of victims and their families face difficult circumstances, have declining health, limited working capacity, and their lives depend heavily on social welfare and community support. This reality demands consistent and long-term attention, not just during peak periods.

Clearly defining its role as a bridge between victims and society, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Ca Mau province always prioritizes social welfare work and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of victims. Among these, caring for them during Tet (Lunar New Year) is a key task, providing both material support and moral encouragement, helping families celebrate the traditional Tet holiday in a warm and meaningful atmosphere.

In early February 2026, the Association coordinated with departments, agencies, mass organizations, and local authorities to implement many activities to care for victims of Agent Orange with particularly difficult circumstances in the province during the Lunar New Year. These activities were organized promptly, targeted appropriately, and ensured practicality, effectiveness, and suitability to the conditions of each locality.

The Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Ca Mau province presented Tet gifts to victims in An Xuyen, Tan Thanh, and Hoa Thanh wards.

According to the plan, during this year's Lunar New Year, the Association will distribute approximately 1,000 gifts, with a total estimated cost of about 1 billion VND. The funding is raised through the joint efforts of agencies, units, businesses, organizations, and individuals inside and outside the province, demonstrating a spirit of responsibility and sharing towards victims of Agent Orange.

Besides distributing gifts in a centralized manner, the Association and its branches also organized visits to the homes of victims, especially those in particularly difficult circumstances, elderly people living alone, and severely injured victims who are unable to care for themselves. Through these visits, they were able to promptly understand the victims' feelings and aspirations in order to provide appropriate support, helping to alleviate their difficulties during the Tet holiday.

Besides taking care of the Lunar New Year celebrations, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Ca Mau province has also coordinated and implemented many practical activities such as: building and repairing shelters for victims of Agent Orange, supporting livelihoods, providing medical examinations and treatment, rehabilitation, and educational support for the children of victims. These activities contribute to improving living conditions and creating motivation for victim families to gradually stabilize their lives.

The efforts to care for victims of Agent Orange during Tet (Lunar New Year) in Ca Mau not only provide material support but also offer timely moral encouragement, contributing to the spread of humanitarian values and the spirit of mutual support within the community. This helps victims and their families gain more faith and strength to overcome difficulties and move towards a more stable and better life.
