Vietnamese game developers aim for $1 billion in revenue.

The Vietnamese gaming market is experiencing strong growth. Revenue from the Vietnamese gaming industry has exceeded $500 million, ranking 5th in Southeast Asia. With the efforts of regulatory bodies to develop the industry in Vietnam, there are high expectations for the future, aiming for significant revenue from this sector.

Vietnam also ranks third in the number of gamers, with over 54.6 million players in 2023. Although complete statistics on the number of gamers in 2024 are not yet available, the strong growth trend and projected revenue from games and applications in Vietnam could reach billions of USD in the coming years…

This development not only creates jobs for the people but also boosts the national economy , especially in the era of Industry 4.0…

However, compared to the population size and the level of telecommunications infrastructure development, Vietnam's online gaming industry revenue remains modest. The industry aims to reach $1 billion in revenue by 2030, but still faces many challenges… Therefore, concerted efforts from the government , businesses, and the community are needed to address current challenges and work towards becoming one of the leading gaming powerhouses in the region.

Vietnam GameVerse 2025: Enhancing Vietnam's Capabilities

After two successful events in 2023 and 2024, Vietnam GameVerse 2025 returns with a new look, promising to continue asserting its role as the leading event for the gaming community, developers, publishers, and businesses in the Vietnamese gaming industry.

Activities within the framework of the Vietnam GameVerse 2025 were officially announced on February 14th in Ho Chi Minh City. This is the third season of the Vietnam GameVerse. The Department of Broadcasting, Television and Electronic Information ( Ministry of Information and Communications ) collaborated with several units to provide information about the activities within the framework of the festival.

With the theme "Connecting Verses," the Vietnam Game Festival 2025 will provide people with a comprehensive experience, allowing them to directly explore exciting products, services, and technologies, and interact with leading experts and organizations operating in the gaming industry.

The activities within the framework of Vietnam GameVerse 2025 include the following main groups: the Vietnam Game Awards honoring products, services, communities, and individuals related to the gaming industry with outstanding achievements (the awards will take place from March to May 2025); the Vietnam Game Forum 2025; cooperation and investment activities; and entertainment activities.

This year's Vietnam Game Awards features refinements and the addition of several new awards, such as: Most Popular Game Character and Most Popular Vietnamese Game.

With its expanded scale and engaging activities, the event is expected to attract 40,000 to 50,000 attendees. The festival is anticipated to be a leading gaming event with a positive impact on the development of the gaming industry in Vietnam, while also receiving attention, support, and participation from regulatory bodies, industry experts, producers, publishers, and the gaming community both domestically and internationally.

According to Le Quang Tu Do, Director of the Department of Broadcasting, Television and Electronic Information (Ministry of Information and Communications), the Vietnam GameVerse 2025 event promises to affirm its role as a leading event for the gaming community, developers, publishers, and businesses in the Vietnamese gaming industry.

With a large player base and the strong growth of domestic game companies, Vietnam has great potential to increase revenue and product quality in the future.
