According to the latest announcement, OpenAI's ChatGPT application for Windows is currently only available to paid users, including the ChatGPT Plus, Enterprise, Team, and Edu packages. Free users will have to wait a little longer.
Furthermore, this chatbot does not yet fully support the features of the web and mobile versions. Most notably, the Advanced Voice Mode is still not integrated.
OpenAI also noted that access to the ChatGPT application on Windows computers at the workplace may be restricted by individual companies' IT policies.
Nevertheless, ChatGPT on Windows still offers certain advantages, such as quick access to AI conversations, setting changes, and direct file uploads. Additionally, using the 'Alt + Space' shortcut allows users to open the application more quickly than using a browser.
Eligible users can now download and install the ChatGPT app for Windows through the Microsoft Store. OpenAI advises users to exercise caution when downloading apps from unofficial sources.
