Accordingly, the 9.8% growth rate not only exceeded the set plan but also served as an important "momentum," creating momentum and a foundation for achieving double-digit growth in 2026 and throughout the term. It is noteworthy, first and foremost, for the solid stability of the economic pillars.
Agriculture continues to play a fundamental role, with production ensuring timely planting and many targets met or exceeded. The service sector maintains its recovery and growth momentum, reflecting the gradually improving domestic demand and tourism, with both domestic and international visitors to the province increasing. Meanwhile, budget revenue reached over 11,314 billion VND, exceeding the plan. This is not only an impressive figure but also an important indicator of the "health" of the economy, creating room for management and investment for development.
Another positive development is the significant progress in attracting investment. The attraction of 10 projects with a total registered capital of over 54,600 billion VND, along with adjustments to the policies for 12 large-scale projects, demonstrates the strengthening of investor confidence in the province's business environment. This not only represents a source of capital but also opens up opportunities for technology, employment, and a shift in the economic structure towards modernization.
Contributing to this growth are the fundamental factors of a continuously improving investment and business environment; a significant increase in the number of newly established businesses; and comprehensive attention to cultural and social sectors. These results reflect the flexible and decisive management efforts of the government from the provincial to the commune level, as well as the cooperation of the business community and the people.
However, what is even more important is how Lam Dong province views these results, not being complacent with the achieved figures, but clearly recognizing that this is only a "stepping stone." The goal of double-digit growth does not allow for complacency, and certainly does not accept a safe-haven mindset. Accordingly, in his directive speech at the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee meeting to assess the socio-economic development, national defense and security situation in the first quarter and key tasks for the second quarter of 2026, Provincial Party Secretary Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam continued to emphasize the need to enhance responsibility, innovate leadership methods, operate the apparatus effectively and efficiently; promote decentralization and delegation of power coupled with inspection and supervision… viewing this as a "lever" to transform determination into concrete actions, to achieve the goal of double-digit growth in 2026.
In the overall context, the Central Committee has continued to emphasize and guide the need for rapid but sustainable growth. Most recently, in his closing remarks at the 2nd Plenum of the 14th Central Committee, General Secretary To Lam noted the goal of double-digit growth with core principles: “Substantive growth; steadfast adherence to the principle of macroeconomic stability, inflation control, and ensuring major balances; effective utilization of all available resources, prioritizing key projects, and promoting public-private partnerships; high economic growth must ensure that it serves the interests and improves the material and spiritual lives of the people and ensures social equity.” This serves as both a guideline and a “benchmark” for Lam Dong to reflect upon its future development process.
Lam Dong possesses significant potential for development: abundant natural resources, a diverse economic structure, and an increasingly improved regional connectivity. However, this potential will only truly become a driving force when exploited with new thinking, new approaches, and strong political determination. From the results of the first quarter, it is clear that when the system operates in a coordinated manner, when business confidence is strengthened, and when the people cooperate, achieving high growth targets is not a distant dream.
