The fire occurred in a waste disposal area in Man Xa village, Van Mon commune, Yen Phong district, Bac Ninh province. Due to the presence of plastic waste, thick black smoke billowed high into the air.
According to initial information, the fire broke out at approximately 6 PM on October 27th in Man Xa village, Van Mon commune, Yen Phong district, Bac Ninh province.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Gia, Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Mon commune, said that the fire was discovered near the commune's waste slag dump. The burning materials were identified as waste such as plastic and pallets belonging to local residents. Due to the flammable nature of the materials, the fire spread rapidly, and a column of smoke rose very high.
"These materials are worthless; people may have burned them on their own accord," Mr. Gia commented.

By over 8 PM the same day, the fire was basically under control. The cause of the incident is being investigated by the authorities.
