The Hanoi - Lao Cai tourist train service resumed on September 23rd, serving tourists visiting Sapa.

However, due to delays at several points, with train speeds ranging from 10-15 km/h, only freight trains have been running normally so far. Passenger trains will resume operation from September 23rd, but will have to reduce speed and extend their journey time. According to the published schedule, train SP3 departs Hanoi station at 10:00 PM and arrives at Lao Cai station at 5:55 AM; train SP4 departs Lao Cai station at 9:30 PM and arrives at Hanoi station at 5:25 AM. However, due to delays at some points, trains will depart earlier, expected by 30-60 minutes. When specific train schedules are available, the railway industry will notify passengers via the phone numbers registered when purchasing tickets. Currently, the price of a ticket for the SP3/SP4 train pair ranges from 280,000 to 420,000 VND per ticket per trip, depending on the type of seat, carriage, departure date, and direction of travel. The railway also sells shuttle bus tickets from Lao Cai station to destinations in Sapa within a 2km radius of the Stone Church, or vice versa, at a price of 55,000 VND per ticket per trip. Passengers can purchase bus tickets when buying train tickets directly or online. Hanoi Railway Transport Joint Stock Company also stated that after the storm, some passengers canceled their tickets, but not many. This train service mainly caters to international tourists and tourists from the South who had booked tickets to Sapa many days before the storm. It is known that Sapa was severely affected by Typhoon No. 3, with many roads to tourist destinations experiencing landslides, but these have been repaired. Most tourist destinations reopened to visitors from September 14th.
