According to a report from the People's Committee of Tam Chuc Ward, at approximately 8 PM on June 27th, a fire unexpectedly broke out at the summit of Cao San Mountain, in Doai residential area, Tam Chuc Ward, Ninh Binh Province. The fire then gradually spread down the mountainside. The location of the fire was in the protected forest area bordering Tam Chuc Ward and Ly Thuong Kiet Ward.

Immediately after the fire was discovered, local authorities, in coordination with the police, military , local forest rangers, various organizations, and the public, quickly arrived at the scene to control the blaze. By 10:30 PM the same day, the fire was basically under control.
However, at 10:00 AM on June 28th, the fire unexpectedly flared up again. Authorities continued to cordon off the area and extinguish the flames, while also relocating some households at risk of being affected and temporarily prohibiting traffic through the area on National Highway 21A.
Approximately 200 people, along with various resources such as specialized fire trucks, tools, and local personnel, were mobilized to participate in the rescue operation.
The initial cause of the forest fire has been identified as a lightning strike that caused the fire to spread from the summit of Cao San mountain down the slopes on the evening of June 27th.
Preliminary statistics as of 2 PM on the same day indicate that the fire damaged approximately 3,000-3,500 square meters of forest, mainly undergrowth, shrubs, and vines.
Local authorities are continuing to closely monitor the fire situation and intensify firefighting efforts.
