Commune officials and staff are reviewing and administering vaccines to livestock and poultry. |
The people's income is mainly based on agricultural production. Some areas are frequently flooded during the rainy season and suffer from water shortages during the dry season. People are also struggling to choose suitable crops and livestock.
Faced with these difficulties, the local government has implemented many solutions to transform the structure of crops and livestock to suit the actual situation; opened training courses to improve knowledge and help people grasp techniques and markets; and strengthened social welfare work...
Among them, Ktluot hamlet has the highest rate of poor and near-poor households in the commune. The hamlet has 117 households, with over 78% classified as poor or near-poor. Ms. H'Kroc Kbuor, head of Ktluot hamlet, shared that the lives of the people are still difficult due to the limited arable land in the commune. Most of the crops and livestock being raised have low economic value; production is fragmented. Unpredictable weather conditions also significantly affect production.

Farmers' association visits lychee model farm. |
Most poor and near-poor households are families without land for production, whose income mainly depends on hired labor. In recent years, the people in the village have received much support from state projects and programs, as well as assistance from the local government, to implement livestock and crop farming models. To create sustainable livelihoods for these households, the local government must focus on equipping people with the knowledge and skills to care for livestock and crops.
According to Mr. Y Phen Byă, to create positive changes in poverty reduction and improve people's lives, the locality is continuing to review and adjust suitable economic models and coordinate with specialized units to provide technical training and guidance on production linked to the market, ensuring stable output for products. At the same time, it is utilizing investment resources to complete essential infrastructure, creating a foundation for local socio-economic development.
In addition, it is necessary to strengthen propaganda to change mindsets and inspire the determination of local people to strive for a better life. With the support of the government at all levels and utilizing capital from programs and projects, the locality is striving towards the goal of sustainable poverty reduction in the coming time.
