No surprises occurred in the relegation battle of the 2024 National Volleyball Championship, as the Industrial and Commercial Bank Club and Thai Binh, with their more balanced squads and better investment compared to the other two teams, Hanoi and Quang Ninh, successfully avoided relegation.
Vi Thi Nhu Quynh (in red) and Quang Ninh Club had an unsuccessful performance at the 2024 National Volleyball Championship.
In their final match on November 16th, Hanoi FC had already secured their relegation spot but still played with a "never give up" spirit against Quang Ninh. In this match, if Quang Ninh had beaten Hanoi FC 3-0 or 3-1, they would still have had a chance to avoid relegation if they had won against Vietinbank FC in their final match today. However, the team, which boasts national team player Vi Thi Nhu Quynh and two foreign players Gullapa Piampongsan (Thailand) and Yeliz Basa (Turkey), only managed a 3-2 victory.
The young Hanoi volleyball team, lacking foreign players, couldn't maintain its position in the national championship.
The above results officially relegated Quang Ninh and Hanoi to League A in 2025. Today's final matches between Quang Ninh and the Industrial and Commercial Bank, and Hanoi and Thai Binh are merely formalities. Thus, the 8 participating teams in the 2025 National Women's Volleyball Championship have been determined: VTV Binh Dien Long An, Duc Giang Chemicals, LPBank Ninh Binh, Long Son Cement Thanh Hoa, Information Corps, Industrial and Commercial Bank, Thai Binh, and newcomer Ho Chi Minh City.
Today (November 17th), the 2024 National Volleyball Championship concludes with a highly anticipated final match between VTV Binh Dien Long An Club and Hoa Chat Duc Giang Club. The match will take place at 8 PM and will be broadcast live on On Sports, the On app, and On Plus on VTVcab.
