Formalism stems from a fundamental mindset.

After much delay, a few days ago I was forced to take my child to the local police station to have their level 2 identification installed. But strangely, from the moment I entered the gate until I left, I was met with surprises.

At the Hac Thanh Ward Police Station's public service point on Phan Chu Trinh Street, while I was still figuring out where to start and who to talk to, a police officer immediately asked me what I needed and how she could help. After hearing my purpose, she smiled and began with an apology. "We can't do it here. Please come to the main station and remember to bring your citizen ID," she said.

I felt lightheaded, no longer stressed.

After parking, my father and I hurried into the police station, hoping to make it on time, as it was almost noon. I only stopped when I heard a voice behind me: "Excuse me, sir, what's the rush?" I turned around and apologized, feeling embarrassed, thinking the officer on duty would scold me. But there was a smile on her face. She asked about my purpose and pointed to the house on the left.

My trip wasn't ideal because the local police station didn't have the equipment to perform the technical procedures, but it was a pleasant experience. The officer on duty was still there, warmly asking me why I was leaving so quickly. Upon learning the reason, she said that if I wasn't in a hurry, I could wait until next week, when it might be possible. If I was in a rush, I could go to the Administrative and Social Order Management Police Department of the Provincial Police. She even gave me detailed directions and information about where to go.

I suddenly remembered that a few days ago, the electronic citizen identification cards of the residents in my neighborhood all displayed the address as Ham Rong Ward, while according to the new ward's boundary demarcation, we live in Hac Thanh Ward. When I called the local police to ask for the reason, he explained that there was a mistake due to objective circumstances, and the police were working to correct it to ensure accuracy and meet the needs of citizens for transactions and work after the new ward comes into operation. He even apologized for the error and asked me to explain it to the other residents in the neighborhood.

A week ago, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police announced a decision regarding organizational structure and personnel. Assigning tasks to the newly appointed police leaders in wards and communes, Provincial Police Director To Anh Dung requested that: Commune-level police must have unified thinking and action; each officer and soldier must be "professional from the very beginning." In particular, they must be truly close to the people, maintaining proper posture, etiquette, and conduct in their work, combat, and when dealing with the people. This is both a legal and political responsibility, a work order, and also a matter of prestige and honor for the People's Police force.

Nothing grand is necessary. I felt that what I heard and saw was a vivid manifestation of the requirement that police officers must be "professional in their thinking," a requirement set forth by the head of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police.
