Despite being a "newcomer" at DIFF, Apple Pyrotechnics Co., Ltd (Macau, China) boasts an outstanding track record, having consecutively won championships at Asian fireworks competitions. In just the last three years, the team has won first prize at the following competitions: Liuyang International Fireworks Conference 2023, Macau International Fireworks Display Contest 2024, and Zhuhai Chimelong International Fireworks Competition 2025.
At DIFF 2026, the team promises to surprise the audience with a fireworks display depicting "Journey to the West." Mr. Ye ZhiChao, Technical Manager of the Macau team, said that Vietnamese audiences are very fond of and familiar with "Journey to the West," so the team decided to bring something that is as relatable as possible.
Initially, the entire team was quite worried because it was a classic work. However, after research, the team realized that they could use music and fireworks visual designs to recreate the majestic atmosphere and core spirit of the work.
According to Mr. Ye ZhiChao, creativity is an extremely important factor in international fireworks competitions. Therefore, innovation is always prioritized in the design and script development process. At this competition, the team will present several new products, including a new generation of water fireworks. In addition, the team has prepared many of the most modern effects and performance technologies on the market to provide a unique experience.
“The performances by the Macau (China) team are usually fast-paced, with multiple layers of effects and the ability to create strong climaxes, giving the audience an overwhelming feeling. Along with the music, we expect to bring many surprises at DIFF,” Mr. Ye ZhiChao shared.

"Paintings made with fire" - a true example of German craftsmanship.
The Josef Steffes-Ollig Feuerwerk GmbH team (Germany) is renowned for its German-style performance: precise, tight, and creative in structure. The team has won the Philippines International Pyromusical Competition twice, in 2018 and 2024, and finished as runner-up in the same competition in 2017.
Also a "newcomer" at DIFF, the German team brought a fresh performance using specific visual effects and variations with creative innovations that are considered to "break the boundaries of traditional fireworks," as Patrick Thomas Reuter, the captain of the German team, shared about his team's performance called "Pyrographics" (Painting with Fire).
This is a unique combination of traditional fireworks techniques and cutting-edge fireworks technology; coupled with precise programming and synchronized music to create layers of colorful fireworks. The climactic highlight at the end promises to transform the sky over the Han River into "a perfect fiery painting in the air."
According to the German team captain, participating in DIFF is a great honor. Before coming to Da Nang , the team did thorough research and made careful preparations to deliver the most impressive performance.
“We have watched the performances at DIFF from last season and also the competitions over the past few nights, and we truly appreciate all the competing teams. They have used many new technologies to help each performance achieve near-perfect quality. As for the Macau (China) team, they are a very talented and unpredictable opponent. We expect an exciting competition on this fourth night,” said Patrick Thomas Reuter.
