QNgTV - Quang Ngai province has set a plan to ensure that by 2030 all 96 communes, wards, and special zones will be drug-free, aiming to build Quang Ngai into a drug-free province. This year alone, Quang Ngai strives to have 39 drug-free localities. To achieve this goal, the police in these communes, wards, and special zones are focusing on finding all possible measures to gradually prevent and eradicate drug use in their areas, employing various effective methods.

The police in Dong Son commune conducted random drug tests.

These are four of many teenagers in Dong Son commune who were randomly tested for drugs by the Dong Son commune police. The test results showed that all four teenagers did not use drugs. The Dong Son commune police have continuously maintained this drug testing program, viewing it as a way to detect early cases of drug use, especially among teenagers. Nearly 500 people in Dong Son commune have been tested for drugs, resulting in 28 positive cases.

The commune police force is also regularly present in the area to monitor the situation, screen suspicious cases, and focus on raising awareness about the harmful effects of drugs in the community, calling on people to provide information and report crimes related to the illegal buying, selling, transporting, storing, and using of narcotics. This flexible approach has created a proactive stance in preventing drug use in the commune.

The vigorous drug prevention and control efforts at the grassroots level have helped localities like Dong Son commune rapidly reduce the number of drug-related cases. From July 2025 to the present, the commune police have dismantled 4 cases of illegal drug trafficking, storage, and use. Efforts to prevent drug use are continuing to soon make Dong Son commune a drug-free commune, contributing to the overall goal of making Quang Ngai province a drug-free province by 2030.
