Mr. Vo Van Minh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, emphasized that the achievements of Binh Duong province, especially the lessons learned, will be an important foundation and driving force to help Binh Duong overcome difficulties and continue to develop, achieving even greater successes in the future, with specific goals identified by the 11th Provincial Party Congress: striving to build Binh Duong into a sustainably developed province in the direction of a smart, civilized, and modern city; by 2030, Binh Duong will become a modern industrial center, and by 2045, a smart city of the region and the whole country.

With smart and systematic infrastructure investment, and society operating in that direction, Binh Duong will develop smart technology amenities to create synergy, increase efficiency, and have a significant social impact.

With the above philosophy, the Binh Duong Smart City Project has achieved many successes in recent years with concrete results in many fields, and has been internationally recognized. For many consecutive years since 2019, Binh Duong has been ranked among the top cities by the International Forum for Smart Communities (ICF). Notably, in 2023, Binh Duong was selected as one of the top cities with exemplary smart city development strategies.

ICF is a prestigious forum that brings together hundreds of cities worldwide. To select the top 21, then the top 7, and finally the top 1, ICF established comprehensive and rigorous criteria for evaluating communities.

A smart community needs to be demonstrated through logical steps, strategies built on thorough analysis as a foundation for developing specific projects, directly addressing community challenges, all of which create a united and smart Binh Duong recognized by the international community.

Recognizing the aforementioned difficulties, Binh Duong proactively sought solutions through international cooperation, study tours, and discussions with scientists . In 2016, Binh Duong developed the Binh Duong Smart City project, modeled after Eindhoven, Netherlands. This project serves as a guiding principle for Binh Duong's development strategy in the current period, directly addressing the province's challenges through specific projects and creating leverage in many aspects of society.

Boosting regional connectivity infrastructure.

In addition to aiming to build a Smart City and Innovation Zone in the near future, Binh Duong province is also promoting the construction of the Science and Technology Industrial Park and the Binh Duong New City World Trade Center, developing regional transportation infrastructure, logistics systems, attracting and training high-quality labor, and implementing preferential investment policies. This serves as a driving force for Binh Duong to attract foreign investors to the region.

Binh Duong province is reviewing all projects planned for medium-term public investment in the 2021-2025 period. It is resolutely cutting or suspending projects that are not truly necessary, inefficient, or newly started, in accordance with the spirit of Prime Minister's Directive 13.

Key routes such as National Highway 1K, National Highway 13, My Phuoc - Tan Van road, and the Ho Chi Minh City - Binh Duong - Chon Thanh Expressway all pass through Binh Duong, connecting Binh Duong with neighboring provinces and cities, especially Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and Binh Phuoc.
