According to assessments, the recent Typhoon No. 10 caused widespread flooding in the province, resulting in property damage and affecting the lives of the people.
Comrade Tran Song Ha, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Giang 1 Ward, said: "In anticipation of Typhoon No. 11 potentially causing prolonged heavy rain, the ward has reviewed households in high-risk areas, compiled lists, and prepared plans for relocation to safe places. Information dissemination, warnings, and guidance on storm and flood prevention skills are regularly carried out through neighborhood Zalo groups and the ward's public address system , helping people to stay informed."
Simultaneously, residents in the area have also demonstrated a high level of vigilance and proactive prevention. Many households have kept their belongings in elevated positions after Typhoon No. 10, while others have moved essential assets and items to upper floors to prevent flooding. At local markets, people are proactively stocking up on food, water, flashlights, and essential medicines to be prepared for prolonged heavy rain and storms.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Chiem, from residential group 14, Minh Xuan ward, shared: “After the recent Typhoon No. 10, the people in our group have learned many lessons. Hearing that Typhoon No. 11 is coming, we proactively reinforced our roofs, gathered our belongings, and braced weak points to ensure safety. Everyone is more aware and is preparing thoroughly together, hoping that the typhoon will pass gently so that life can return to normal soon.”
At many schools, medical facilities, and public works in the province, environmental sanitation, clearing of drainage ditches , and reinforcement of infrastructure are being urgently implemented. Ms. Nguyen Thi Bay, Principal of Sao Mai Kindergarten (Ha Giang 2 Ward), said: “During the recent floods, the school was not flooded, so we had prepared the necessary facilities and were ready to provide safe shelter for people during storms.”
In response to Typhoon No. 11, the Provincial People's Committee requested relevant departments and localities to closely monitor the developments of the storm and its aftermath; proactively develop plans to evacuate people from areas at risk of landslides and flooding; organize inspections and reinforcement of reservoirs, dams, and irrigation works; implement the "four on-the-spot" principle, deploy forces and resources ready for rescue operations, and be on duty 24/7 to promptly handle any potential situations. The goal is to quickly mitigate the consequences, with the highest priority being stabilizing people's lives and restoring production.
Local authorities have established task forces to go down to each neighborhood and residential area to disseminate information and guide people to proactively prevent and avoid storms and floods. Police, military , militia, youth union members, and members of various organizations throughout the province have also mobilized to support people, helping to reinforce houses, clear mud and debris, unblock waterways, protect crops and property, contributing to maintaining safety and smooth traffic flow during the storms.
Thanks to decisive leadership, effective coordination among forces, and the proactive spirit of the people, the entire province of Tuyen Quang is ready to respond to Typhoon No. 11, determined to ensure the safety of the people and minimize damage caused by the natural disaster.
