Chairwoman of the Vietnam Sub-committee in APF, Nguyen Thuy Anh, attended the Conference of Chairmen of the Asia-Pacific Member Sub-committees in the APF.

On the morning of April 29th, at the headquarters of the National Assembly - 22 Hung Vuong Street, Hanoi, Nguyen Thuy Anh, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Chair of the Vietnamese Subcommittee in the Francophone Parliamentary Assembly (APF), attended the online meeting of the Committee on Education, Communication, and Culture and the meeting of Chairs of the Asia-Pacific Subcommittees in the APF.

The Head of the Vaimu'a Muliava region, Member of Parliament Nouvelle Calédonie, chaired the meeting. The Chairpersons of the APF's regional member subcommittees also attended.

At the Conference of the Committee on Education , Communication and Culture, delegates discussed: the return of cultural assets confiscated during the colonial period; the integration of children with special needs into the school environment; the exchange of views on the UNESCO Convention on Diversity of Cultural Expression; the possibility of building a legal framework to combat disinformation; and the registration of births for children…

Speaking at the Conference, the Chair of the Vietnam Section in the APF, Nguyen Thuy Anh, highly appreciated the commitment of the New Caledonia branch and the role of the regional delegates in committing to holding the 11th Asia- Pacific Regional Conference of the APF in Noumea, New Caledonia. This will be the first time an Asia-Pacific regional event has been held in the Pacific region.

Chairwoman Nguyen Thuy Anh also provided information about the Ninth Session of the Vietnamese National Assembly, which will begin on May 5th with discussions on important issues such as amending the Constitution, passing several Laws and Resolutions… serving the restructuring and streamlining of the political system.

The delegates participated online.

At the Conference, the member Subcommittees exchanged and discussed upcoming activities in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly preparations for the 11th Regional Conference scheduled to take place in Noumea, Nouvelle Caledonie in June 2025 and the 50th APF General Assembly in Paris, France.
