"Why are you calling so early?" My father's voice whispered on the phone, sounding still sleepy after a sleepless night of casting his fishing nets.
"Well, I miss home, I crave Dad's cooking." Hearing me say that, Dad paused for a moment, then burst into a hearty laugh.
Hearing my father's laughter made all my fatigue disappear, putting me in an "up mood" to start a new workday.
When I'm tired, I often call home like this. Not to complain about work or city life, but simply to hear my parents' voices, to see familiar sights of the garden, the familiar house, or the cheerful calls of the neighbors – it makes me happy too.
As the April 30th and May 1st holidays approached, I asked my friends about their travel plans to escape the city's hustle and bustle. Most of them jokingly said, "Let's go back to our hometowns to tell our parents." This seemingly lighthearted remark is actually a popular choice among young people recently, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic.
There are days when those who leave their homeland "plunge into life to earn a living, plunge into life to seek opportunities," leaving them exhausted and stressed.
At that moment, how much we longed for a home-cooked meal, how much we yearned for a good night's sleep in our familiar childhood bed.

Healing doesn't require spending a lot of money on self-discovery courses, planning an expensive healing trip, or traveling far away to enjoy moments of peace.
The simplest and least expensive way to heal is to go home.
Returning home to eat a meal cooked by my mother. A meal that doesn't need to be overflowing with meat and fish, but one filled with the warmth of family love.
Returning home means being able to sleep on my familiar bed, without needing warm blankets or soft mattresses to get a good night's sleep like I did in the bustling city.
Returning home, I can freely borrow clothes from my mother to wear comfortably without having to carry a heavy suitcase full of fancy outfits.

In fact, returning home is a chance for lively arguments. At those times, we can vent freely without fear of anyone expressing disapproval or holding a grudge, because our parents always clearly point out right and wrong to us.
Leaving behind the pressures and stresses of city life, we seek moments of peace in our hometowns to restore both our minds and bodies.
Whether that home is a simple one-story house or a large multi-story building, it holds childhood memories filled with voices and laughter. At that time, all weariness is dispelled, and stress and pressure seem to stop behind closed doors.
Have you ever wished to be healed? Do you think young people's posts on social media expressing a desire for healing are just for fun or reflect their genuine wishes? Please share your thoughts by emailing tto@tuoitre.com.vn. Tuoi Tre Online thanks you.
