Over the past nearly three years, Vinh Thanh district has achieved and exceeded 14 targets set forth in the Resolution of the District Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term. Infrastructure has been invested in and built, creating a modern and attractive new rural district; people's lives have improved; and Party building and the political system have achieved many positive results… These results create a solid foundation for Vinh Thanh to develop strongly in the new phase.

Promote the "Self-reflection and self-correction" movement.
The Resolution of the Vinh Thanh District Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term identifies one of its key tasks as building a clean and strong Party and political system. Party committees at all levels have implemented many measures, including effectively carrying out the "self-reflection and self-correction" movement to prevent and combat degradation among cadres and Party members. Comrade Dinh Dac Chien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Thanh Loc commune, said: Monthly, during regular meetings, Party branches require Party members to review the results of their "self-reflection and self-correction," identifying limitations and shortcomings; 1-2 Party members are assigned to conduct the review on a rotating basis. Through "self-reflection and self-correction," over the past three years, many Party members have overcome shortcomings such as not being proactive in carrying out assigned tasks; being careless in their work; and not seriously adhering to the schedule of regular Party branch meetings. Afraid of confrontation in self-criticism and criticism, Party members in the Party organization have consequently reduced violations.
According to Comrade Nguyen Minh Xuyen, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Vinh Trinh commune, at regular meetings, the Party branches seriously and effectively implemented the "self-reflection and self-correction" movement, helping Party members overcome shortcomings in adhering to the Party's organizational principles, lack of close contact with the masses, reluctance in self-criticism and criticism, concealment of mistakes, superstition, etc. As a result, every year, over 95% of Party members in the commune complete their tasks well or better.
Comrade Huynh Thai Nguyen , Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the District People's Council, affirmed: The "self-reflection and self-correction" movement has been implemented regularly and is becoming more substantive, limiting the decline and violations among cadres and Party members; the leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party organizations and the quality of Party members have been enhanced. Annually, over 92% of Party members in the district Party committee complete their tasks well or better; most Party organizations complete their tasks well or better.
Improving people's living standards
The District Party Committee has identified a key task in the socio-economic field: focusing on building and developing Vinh Thanh district towards an advanced, civilized, and modern new rural area; and improving the material and spiritual lives of the people. To successfully achieve this goal, the District Party Committee and Party committees at all levels have implemented many solutions that have yielded positive results.
Walking with us across the newly inaugurated Canal 6 Thước Bridge, Mr. Võ Văn Ửng, a resident of Quy Lân 2 hamlet, Thạnh Quới commune, said: “Last year, the commune organized the construction of this bridge, with the people contributing 150 million VND and 300 man-days of labor. Now, with a spacious concrete bridge, travel is convenient and safe, and everyone is happy.” According to the leaders of Thạnh Quới commune, over the past nearly three years, the commune has mobilized more than 4 billion VND in resources to build transportation infrastructure, making the appearance of the new rural area increasingly more attractive.
Comrade Huynh Thai Nguyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the District People's Council, said: In the past nearly three years, the district has mobilized 2,206 billion VND for the construction of new rural areas. To date, the district has three more communes that have achieved advanced new rural area standards: Thanh An, Thanh Loc, and Thanh Thang communes; and Thanh Loi commune has achieved model new rural area standards. The district has mobilized hundreds of billions of VND from the budget and people's contributions to build infrastructure, including the upgrading and expansion of 64,308m of roads, the construction of 67 bridges, and the construction of 4 new schools… In particular, the district coordinated with the city to implement the investment project for the construction and business of infrastructure in Vinh Thanh Industrial Park Phase 1 (VSIP Can Tho) and the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project (passing through the district)...
Alongside infrastructure investment, the district has implemented numerous solutions to support the people with technical assistance, loans, administrative procedures, and the upgrading of traditional markets. Agriculture, industry, handicrafts, and trade and services have all seen development, with annual food production increasing, 553 households investing in businesses, and 25 new enterprises established. “Thanks to the implementation of many socio-economic development solutions, the people's living standards have improved significantly; the district now has only 238 poor households, accounting for 0.88%,” said Comrade Huynh Thai Nguyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the District People's Council.
Halfway through the implementation of the District Party Congress Resolution, Vinh Thanh has seen positive changes in many areas, creating a solid foundation for progress. This provides confidence for the District Party Committee, government, and people to successfully achieve the goals and tasks set for the entire term.
