Near-poor households in Cai Khe ward receive Tet gifts.
Working together to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas.
The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cai Khe Ward, in coordination with the Ward People's Committee, recently held a ceremony to launch the "Civilized Urban Area" campaign for 2026. At the launch ceremony, Mr. Phan Thanh Dien, Standing Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Committee, called on the Fatherland Front, political and social organizations, and local officials to disseminate information to spread awareness of environmental protection among all segments of the population. He also requested that all sectors, units, and areas seriously implement measures to restore urban order and ensure traffic safety; that households and businesses comply with regulations, refrain from encroaching on roads and sidewalks for trading, placing signs, tables, chairs, and household items; and avoid littering or improper waste disposal. Following the launch ceremony, participating forces cleaned up the environment along several streets and alleys.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in the city, along with political and social organizations, have always played a core role in coordinating and mobilizing all strata of the people to implement the "National Unity for Building New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas" campaign with many outstanding projects and tasks. Specifically, in January 2026, 14 traffic bridges were built, repaired, and inaugurated; 10 rural roads were repaired and patched; environmental sanitation campaigns were launched, including garbage collection, clearing vegetation, planting trees and ornamental flowers; 2 rural road lighting projects with 47 solar-powered lampposts were inaugurated; illegal advertising signs were removed; security and order were maintained, and cultural life was built in residential areas...
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at the commune and ward levels promote the role of members, religious dignitaries, officials, and the people in combating and denouncing all types of crimes and social evils; guiding the development of self-governance models in the community, building united, prosperous, and happy residential areas. Along with that, they maintain many self-governance models in various fields, such as the model of grassroots security and order protection teams, neighborhood fire prevention and control teams, people's self-governance teams, security cameras, crime prevention, civilized roads "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful - Safe", lighting rural roads, security gates and fences in residential areas, etc.
Working alongside the people to improve their lives.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in the city and political and social organizations, as well as mass associations assigned by the Party and State, have focused on activities to care for the people's lives. In particular, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees and political and social organizations at all levels in the city have supported the construction of 76 houses for households still facing housing difficulties. Ms. Ly Thi Gam's family in Area 33, Ninh Kieu Ward, recently received support to build a "Great Solidarity" house costing 60 million VND. Ms. Gam shared: "Our old house was dilapidated, and my family didn't have money to repair it. We are very happy to celebrate the Lunar New Year in our new, spacious house thanks to the local support."
During the recent Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse), the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in Can Tho City, along with political and social organizations and mass associations assigned by the Party and State, mobilized and distributed over 185,000 gifts, totaling more than 99 billion VND, to poor households, near-poor households, those with particularly difficult circumstances, and vulnerable groups. Notably, in response to the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - Leaving no one behind," Dong Mart Co., Ltd. organized the "Eco-shop Tet Binh Ngo Heart" program, symbolically donating 1.8 billion VND to 100 households (1.5 million VND/household/month) for 12 months, from January 2026 to the end of January 2027. At the ceremony, the company presented 40 gifts and invited residents to a New Year celebration.
Through these activities, it is evident that the Fatherland Front at all levels in the city has coordinated with member organizations to awaken the spirit of solidarity and voluntarism among the people in organizing and implementing these initiatives. The movements and campaigns have contributed to building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, implementing social welfare, improving people's lives, and building an increasingly prosperous homeland.
