According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Van, Secretary of the Party Branch of Hamlet 19, Da Huoai Commune, the hamlet has 185 households. Previously, the people lived solely on cultivating three crops: cassava, sugarcane, and cashew nuts. Each crop only provided enough food, resulting in basic poverty. Furthermore, the scattered population, limited and arid land, and the large number of ethnic minority people made life very difficult. Therefore, the hamlet's Party branch aims to work with the people to improve their lives and transform the crop structure to achieve better results and escape poverty.
Ms. Ngoc Van shared that since 2021, many farmers in the Da Huoai area have become well-off thanks to durian cultivation, but very few people in Hamlet 19 still grow durian. Therefore, the Party branch decided to build a model of effective mass mobilization, encouraging people to plant durian trees.
“We didn’t just talk; we directly assigned each party member to guide and instruct the villagers on planting and cultivating according to standards and techniques. My own family also started planting durian in 2021. Party members lead the way, the villagers follow; only through words and actions can we achieve results,” the female Party Secretary recalled. In addition to providing technical guidance, the Party branch also closely collaborated with the Front Committee and the village head to provide concrete support. “Village head Pham Ngoc Hien is a very experienced durian grower; he helped the villagers buy fertilizers and pesticides at good prices and provided dedicated technical guidance,” Ms. Van added.

Currently, Village 19 has 180 hectares of durian orchards, of which 120 hectares are already producing fruit. The 120 hectares of durian trees currently being harvested are registered to participate in production according to VietGAP standards, ensuring clean and safe products for consumers and aiming for sustainable development. 100% of the area has been equipped with automatic irrigation systems by the villagers of Village 19, with 105 hectares applying advanced technology for fertilizer application via sprinkler nozzles, reducing labor, saving input costs, and improving farming efficiency.
Production linkages along the value chain have also achieved impressive results, with 34 households participating in cooperatives, 8 households participating in cooperative groups, and 120 hectares of durian orchards granted planting area codes, fully meeting the standards for official export.

Mr. K'Liền is also a farmer who was persuaded and supported by the Party Branch of Village 19 to plant and care for durian trees since 2021. From low-yielding cashew trees, his family now has 6 acres of durian trees that are producing a fairly stable yield. Mr. K'Liền is one of dozens of households that have become well-off with the support of the village Party branch and other organizations. In Village 19, there are 16 households with an income of over 1 billion VND/year, 20 households with an income of 600-800 million VND, and 23 households reaching 400-500 million VND/year.
Mr. Phan Dinh Thong, Deputy Head of the Party Building Committee of Da Huoai commune, commented that the model of guiding people in planting and caring for durian trees implemented by the Party branch of village 19 is a model with clear effectiveness. Although the branch only has 8 members, with the motto "Party members lead the way, the people follow" and "working together, sharing together" of each member, it has created trust among the people, bringing increasingly prosperous lives to the local residents.
