Transfermarkt is a football website with the largest database globally, and recently, they surprisingly included Hanoi FC in their "Club Followers Cup" competition (for the most followed team).
This isn't the first time Transfermarkt has organized a voting contest like this. Back in April, they included Vietnam in their " World Cup Heart-Shaped Team" to compete against 63 other national teams.
Accordingly, the competition organizers will hold a draw and then a knockout tournament. In each match, the team with the most interactions on their Facebook post will win and advance to the next round.
Vietnamese football has never reached world-class standards, but it has consistently been among the top in terms of passionate fan base.
As a result, in this particular World Cup, Vietnam reached the quarterfinals after defeating Thailand, Germany, and Georgia, before losing to Bangladesh – a country with 170 million people.

In this Club Followers Cup, Hanoi FC was selected to compete alongside a host of top world teams such as Real Madrid, Liverpool, Chelsea, etc. A total of 128 teams participated in this special tournament.
In the first round, the Vietnamese representative overwhelmingly defeated the Turkish team Galatasaray, receiving 13,900 interactions compared to their opponent's less than 3,000.
In the second round, Hanoi FC will face Liverpool - one of the most successful football clubs, as well as having the largest fan base in the world.

But after almost a day of competition, the English representatives were no match for the Vietnamese fans, as Hanoi received 26,300 interactions, far surpassing Liverpool's 11,900.
Of course, Liverpool is far ahead of Hanoi in terms of squad value (1.15 billion euros compared to a mere 5.5 million euros), and there's absolutely no comparison in terms of the global fan base of the two teams. But in these polls, Vietnamese fans are always highly rated.
After defeating Liverpool, Hanoi will face the winner of the Fulham - Sevilla match in Round 3 (Round of 32).
