Scientific Workshop on Building Smart Agriculture and Rural Areas: Opportunities, Challenges, and Solutions

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of December 18th, at the City Conference Center, the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Hai Phong City, in collaboration with the Institute for Innovation and Digital Transformation and the Hai Phong Electronics and Informatics Association, organized a scientific workshop on building smart agriculture and rural areas: Opportunities, challenges, and solutions.
Dr. Bui Thanh Tung - Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of the city; Nguyen Thi Bich Lan - Director of the Institute of Innovation and Digital Transformation; and Bui Xuan Tuan - Chairman of the Hai Phong Electronics and Informatics Association, co-chaired the workshop. Representatives from relevant departments, agencies, and units attended the workshop.

At the workshop, delegates listened to presentations and discussions from experts and scientists on topics related to: solutions for developing smart new rural commune models; the application of IoT lighting and control technology in high-tech production; the application of Industry 4.0 technology – combating counterfeiting and traceability; the orientation of digital transformation and smart agriculture and rural models in the development of new rural areas in the 2021-2025 period; the role of science, technology and innovation in building smart rural areas; and the implementation of effective smart rural development solutions in rural areas, bringing the digital economy to all regions.
Dr. Bui Thanh Tung, Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of the city, delivered a speech at the workshop.
Speaking at the workshop, Dr. Bui Thanh Tung, Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of the city, emphasized: The workshop is a practical activity contributing to the effective implementation of the Prime Minister's Decisions: No. 749/QD-TTg on approving the National Digital Transformation Program; No. 263/QD-TTg on approving the National Target Program for New Rural Development (NRD), 2021-2025; No. 923/QD-TTg on approving the science and technology program serving NRD construction, 2021-2025; No. 922/QD-TTg on approving the Rural Tourism program in NRD construction; and No. 924/QD-TTg on approving the Digital Transformation Program in NRD construction, towards smart NRD, 2021-2025.
To ensure the success of the workshop, Dr. Bui Thanh Tung, Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of the city, requested delegates to actively exchange, discuss, and share good experiences and innovative approaches, and to boldly raise existing shortcomings, limitations, and difficulties in the current process of building smart agriculture and rural areas.
